Most major credit cards will not increase your credit limit until you have showed them that you are a good customer and pay on time.
Your credit habits determine when and if as well as how much of an increase you will get. If you keep a low balance (30% of available credit or less), then your chances increase. If you are always close to your limit, th chances go down.

You can call and request it to see what happens.

Hope this answers your question

I do not think right now they will giving increases infact I think they will be lowering limits

If it's not an emergency ..I wouldn't do it.
Cash ....GOOD
Credit cards ...BAD
Pay it off & put it away.

are you really asking this question? have you been watching the news. our economy is melting.

Hmm, that's strange. I have a Bank of America Card and they always increased my limit every 6 months without me even asking.

All you have to do is talk with the credit analysis department and simply ask for an increase. I've done it and then said yes and did it. Very simple and easy.

Ask who ever answers first. If they give you a hard time then ask for someone else. They will only give you what they think you can pay, and if you have a big outstanding balance (even with regular payments) and a set amount of income, they won't give you more than they think you can realistically handle.

call them and ask for an increase.

go to chase.com and sign into your credit card account page and you will see a link called "request credit limit increase". if you have been charging and if you have been paying your bills without any delinquency, you will likely receive a credit limit increase.

If you ask for a limit increase, they will check your credit. Banks have tougher standards for higher credit limits. Normally, you would get an automatic increase after one year. However, many banks are actually decreasing limits.

If you are carrying a balance on this credit card, work on paying it off completely. Credit cards are not meant for long term finance. Use the card and pay it in full every month. That will build a good payment history, save you interest, and keep you out of debt.

After a year they should increase you limit automatically . If you call and ask for your balance because your going to transfer to a better rate on different card they will most likely increase and lower your rate.
