Get an account of some sort!! Maybe get a credit card and use it a few times. Or you could open an account with a catalogue company. Just rememebr though it is best to buy goods that you can pay off - don't go buying things that you will have difficulty paying off later. Little things like this will build up your credit rating. |

you need to start off by getting a small loan or credit card- make sure you make the payments on time ...this will help to show worthiness and will build your credit. Also you can put eletric, gas, phone, ect...in your name and make the payments on time and that will help as well.Do not be late on payments! |

you get some by getting some credit and then paying it off on time, without fail.
if you need to rebuild, then I would suggest something like a pre-paid credit card, capital one do one. they come with a rubbish credit limit and an even worse interest rate, but if you put a small amount on each month and pay it off without fail it will rebuild your credit limit.
It did for mine and i only came out of my bankruptcy 2 years ago. i paid it off in full every month, sometimes twice a month, and always at least a week before it was due. now i have a number of cards i do the same for, one of which has a decent limit on it so it obviously worked. |

I had a problem with this a few years back. The banks kept refusing to give me a loan and I could not work out why. I sent away for my credit report and it was fine. I then went to my local branch and the lady told me confidentially that I was being refused because I had no credit rating and she told me to get a credit card. It worked and I can now get loans etc. It's pretty stupid if you ask me in order to get into debit you have to be in debit. Get a credit card and pay it off every month and after a few you should have a credit rating. |

That depends on why you have none. If you've got no previous credit history then there are several things you can do to build one.
Make sure you are registered on the electoral roll and apply for some sort of credit - but use it wisely. For example, apply for a card with a low limit and use it but pay it off each month.
Your credit file is measured on the following among other things:
- Number of searches on your file: 3-5 a year is considered good because it shows you're active but not desperate for credit
- Arrears/defaults: any of these are of course bad. If all your payments are on time then great news.
- Postcode, age, sex, occupation, marital status: these all affect your rating because companies use stats to predict behaviour.
- Home telephone number: if you have a landline it looks better as you're seen to be steady and reliable and therefore lower risk
- Credit utilisation: If you have £3500 of credit and are using £3499 this might be seen as negative because you're maxed out. Medium utilisation is best - you're seen to be active but not desperately out of control. Companies don't like people who don't use their credit at all because these people aren't going to make them any money.
- Electoral roll: if your name and address is registered to vote it's better - again because it shows you're not moving about all over and are easier to find if you do default.
If you're in the UK a good site to visit is http://www.checkmyfile.com where it'll give you very detailed information about your credit file and credit scoring.
It's worth bearing in mind that there are three main credit reference agencies and each financial will have a different way of scoring you. Banks use different agencies and strangely some hold information that others don't. My score is different between each of the three credit agencies for example. |

You should have at least 3 open tradelines to establish a solid credit history. Even if you have a high credit score, it means very little without solid history to support it.
You really need about 2 years history on 3 tradelines to have a significant rating. Get started by opening a credit card, cell phone, store card, etc.
Pay it on time each month and wait a couple years. During that time raise credit card limits so you show the ability to take on higher and higher amounts of debt. Eventually you'll show creditors you have what it takes to get a mortgage or an auto loan.

Are you asking how to establish credit, or you want to see where it stands, on your TRW? Well, to establish credit, you can log onto fingerhut.com, and they go through TRW....... Or, go down to a lot that deals with TRW, ONLY, and begin making payments on a New car, or a used one, so long as they do indeed go through TRW...... If your wanting to check your credit status, you can maybe, simply write in your address bar......trw.com..... I'm not real sure how that's done.....but I'm sure you can find someone on here who does..... good-Luck, to you!! Smile!!! |
