You get credit cards with low limits and pay the bills on time. Some places offer prepaid credit cards. You actually put money down and then use the card until it is used up. There are other places that will give you a card at high interest rates. It is a slow process and will take a lot of effort to get the credit established. |

although I suspect you meant to ask, where do I apply for a credit card, because I refuse to believe you don't know the answer to "how do i get one".
the answer to the question you meant to ask is - you will probably need to get a guaranteed (paid up front) one. I got one from Capital one (I was bankrupt in 2001, auto discharge in 2004). I had to pay £200 deposit for a £200 limit and the interest rate is a killer.
used it regularly every month, paid it off in full WITHOUT FAIL, sometimes twice a month, and after 9 months I had enough of a history to get one from RBS (allbeit with half their normal credit limit). |

Try and get two or three application forms, fill in and send back to the credit card companies, cross your fingers and wait.
With luck, at least one company will sympatise with you. |

Please dont think any criticism intended but dont bother stay away from the credit if poss. If you have a clean slate keep it that way. I'm not bankrupt but not far off from it, and have to say I am sorting it out and I just dont want any more. Save your income for the things that you want or at least if poss borrow from a family member and pay them back. If they do give you the credit they will make you pay for it.
