Pay the standing credit and discard it as soon as you're done. Throw it away and never look back! |

Call them and tell them you would like to close/cancel the account. Of course you have to continue to make the monthly payments until it is paid off but you will not be allowed to charge on it anymore. They might ask you to put it in writing and just ask for the mailing address to do so. You can always ask them if they can lower the interest rate for you. |

Ring up and tell them. They will freeze the card so you cannot spend any more on it and arrange a monthly payment you can afford. If you ask really nicely they may freeze the interest too so that you are not getting interest on your interest - the crippling part of credit card debt. They may offer a fixed term loan to pay it off.
Whatever you do, don't ignore the debt and keep talking to the company. |

Look up debt busters uk
they are very good at helping with excessive debts and crippling interest rates. They will also encourage you to get your bank charges refunded. |

If no longer want the card cut it up and post it back but you will have to keep paying for the credit that you owe.
If you are in real dire straits and financial difficulty then contact them right away and they may agree a more reasonable repayment plan but in reality that is only in extreme cases. Try contacting The Consumer Credit Counselling Service and they will advise you on how to deal with debt. |

phone the company and they will come to agreement of what you can pay, by law they have to do this. Also cut the card in half and then that way you won't be tempted to spend.Good luck.Ive been in that situation before but there is light at the end of the tunnel. |

The first thing to do is CUT the cards. Never use it again, then call the company in question to let them know that you want to pay off your account, explain your circumstances, and let them know honestly how much you are able to pay every month and take it from there. I hope this helps |

Speak to them. 9 times out of 10 they will help you as your addressing the problem head on. If you leave it then they will not be as sympathetic and thats when the recovery stage gets involved. OR you could try a debt management agency, there are loads out there, Baines & Ernst, Gregory Pennington, Debt matters. You have to sort it out. They are pretty good if you tell them straight away. Good luck |

if you live in uk you can arrange a payment plan with cccs, it's free and they send you all the forms you need! If you show on a budget you cant afford it they more or less have to accept what you want to pay them! Like £5.00 per month! good luck, they have a website too! Don't be scared of them, they should not make this unpleasant for you! |

You can ring them up and explain your predicament.
They will probably stop your card, and freeze the interest, as long as you agree a regular repayment plan.
They'd rather get the balance paid off without interest than nothing at all, so its worth a go, and they will usually do this for you. You must stick to the repayments though, otherwise they are entitled to charge you the interest and take you to court, so you`ll end up with a CCJ. |

Cut it up and send it back.
They know you don't want the card and you're not tempted to use it any more. |

You should call the credit card company and work out a payment plan. Tell them just what you wrote here. If they know you are trying to pay them and you have been faithful in giving them money every month they will reduce your interest rate or work out some type of payment plan with you. Their goal is to get the money you borrowed back. They would rather work with you than not get anything. If you need to repair your credit you should visit http://www.your-credit-solution.com . They have many solutions to repair your credit yourself or you can use one of their recommended companies to settle your debt.
Good Luck! |

First you must pay it off completely, then you call them up and tell them you wish to cancel the card, cut the card in half and throw each half in a separate garbage bag. Might sound funny, but that is always better to be safe then sorry.
Try to negotiate a lower interest rate, they might even agree to lower the rate just to keep you. You do not have to use it, but make them think that you will keep it. Do not hint any of your financial problems, because that could scare them, and they do not run social problems, they are very greedy and look after interest payments only.
If you have good credit, you might want to get another card with lower interest and transfer it, but be careful of any additional fees.
Hope that helps

First you need to pay the card off. Then once that is done, call them up and tell them you want to cancel the card. They will try to get you to keep it. (offer a lower interest rate, coupons, etc) Just say no thank you, I want to keep my credit in good standing. End of Story. Best of luck to you. |

Don't even let them know you are thinking of leaving until the balance is paid. Some issuers will jack up your interest rate to the maximum allowable rate if you try to cancel while you have a balance. |

Don't tell them. Stop paying. They will bankrupt you . Have assets? A problem! No assets? No problem. |
