you have some options: (1) take out a "deposit" credit card. that's where you give the bank $500 and they give you a card with a $500 line of credit. Citibank used to do this. If you pay on time, you establish credit and the bank eventually will give you a "real' credit card. (2) go to a local savings bank, put some money in the bank and take out a passbook loan on the value of your deposit. (3) find a local store that gives store credit and ask if you can open an account.
good luck! |

If you go to a store that offers credit cards they will offer you one with a small amount like $500-$1000. Buy something you need for any amount and pay off the credit card by using the minimum payment always when the bill comes in the mail (not when it's due). They will offer you a higher amount. You accept it. You wait 6 months and ask for a lower APR and keep paying your credit card when you receive it (not when it's due). You will have great credit! |

I suggest you start off by opening a checking and savings account and keep it in good standing. Wait six month or more before you apply to any credit cards or bank loans. If you are in desperate need of a credit card the go any college and apply for a student credit card they may start you off with small credit, around two hundred and after every six month if you pay on time you can request a credit increase.
Try to control your spending your first credit card is always high interest. Never spend in a month more than what you earn in a week. |

get a card at target, best buy, etc. use it to buy something and then pay it off...as soon as possible would be best. you're going to need a bank account inorder to even do that. |

Get a low value credit card. Most major department stores will issue one for you; make some purchases and pay them off.
You can also get a secured credit card; you send in a deposit for your credit limit. Use it, pay it off, as above. |

Take out a couple small ($500.00) loans (one at a time) and pay them off within 6 months. |

The best way is to buy something that requires a monthly payment and continue to make payments on time. Then the creditors will come to you. |

I started off by paying off my student loans. Unless you pay off your entire credit card bill each and every month, never get a credit card. Trust me; it's just one big head ache paying those off. I learned the hard way. Another way to start off your credit is to get a car loan (you might have to co-sign of course). Renting an apartment or a house can start your credit history. These are just some ways to start getting credit. |

The easiest way is to apply for a credit card if you are old enough. |

The fastest way to get numerous cards is to be a college student. The credit card companies will swamp you with offers. If you don't go to school, try a business that offers in house credit (Department stores, Best Buy, Home Depot etc) for $500 or less. |
