I don't think anyone understood the question. But I can't answer it unless I know where you are trying to update your info at. It may just be better to call the company you are trying to update with and let them guide you. |

Seriously. You can't change the date. Only the credit card company can change the date.

Your card issuer sends you a new card a few weeks before your card expires. Otherwise, you cannot update the exp date.
If your card is damaged somehow i.e. the magnetic stripe does not work, your card issuer usually sends you a replacement card and it sometimes has a new expiration date. But not always. |

You should receive a new card in the mail 2 or 3 weeks before your card's date of expiration. Expiration dates are used mainly for security purposes, because your credit card "agreement" can change at any time.
If you are concerned, call the credit card company's phone number listed on the back of the card (customer service #), tell them when your expiration date is and what their policy on getting a new card/ or renewing your card. So far, I have not had a credit card that I needed to renew or call the company to ask them where my new card is. My new card has always automatically come in the mail before the expiration date or I have received a letter notifying me of it's pending mail out.

You don't update it. The credit card company will issue a new credit card (same card number, new expiration date) a few weeks before the old one is set to expire. FYI, they have the option of not renewing, so if yours has expired or is close, call them. |

Well it sounds as though this is not even "your" credit card. This sounds more like a card that was stolen. Because if it were actually "yours" you would know to call the 800 # on the card or you would know the credit card company automatically sends you a new card before the old one expires! |

Usually they send you a new credit card in the mail with a new expiration date when your old one is close to expiring.
Otherwise, there's usually a 1-800 number on the back of the credit card. Try calling that and see what they can do. |

If it's close to expiring, your bank should automatically issue you a new one.
If you don't have it yet, and it's expired, call your bank and tell them to get you a new one.
Should only take a few days to get the new card. |
