You won't develop any credit just by paying your utility bills on time. You will, however, get turned in to collections if you don't pay your utility bills. |

you get good credit by paying your bills on time. Utility bills does not count because normally utility company do not report to the 3 major credit agencies. The best way to establish credit is to have a friend or relative to add you on as a co-signer or apply for a secured credit card. Always pay your bills on time even if it is only the minimum amount. |

If you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card. |

any time you pay your bills on time is a mark in the right direction. Another way is to get a credit card but make sure it is a limit that you can handle. Ask for it to be a small amount. |

You could try getting a credit card with like a $300 limit. You could just use it every once in awhile then pay it off as soon as you get the bill! I works! JUST MAKE SURE YOU DONT GO OVER THE $300!!! AND DONT MISS A PAYMENT.

this is complicated...but the very short answer is pay off your credit cards and try not to have over 50% of your total credit in use...and no to the utilities, cable and rent...yeah it sucks you should check out frontlines report on credit in america...

There are three major nationwide credit reporting agencies Equilfax, Experian, and TransUnion, most of these agencies offer free credit reports, just go on line and type in free credit report. The best way to check your credit is through all three agencies. There is a fee of about 20 dollars. These agencies do not use utility bills or cell phone bills as a line of credit. But if you dont pay any of these bills for a extended amount of time the company will report you to the credit agency. The best way to get credit is to open a couple of accounts such as a furniture bill, or a small home depot card, or store card, gas card, apply for a major credit card, keep them payed on time and you will get credit. Just make sure when you open a account you do not max it out. Try to keep the balance about half of your credit limit. Creditors look at the amount of each account to see if the balance is near the max and to see if they are being paid on time. Jewelery stores are an excellent line of credit. |

ABSOLUTELY NOT; you would pretty much need to open an account at a jewelry store and then purchase a watch and make payments in order to build good credit. |
