How do you get good credit rating with no credit?

order from catalogues and pay on time, the cred check agencies are owned by big catalog brands like great universal, littlewoods and next. Great universal is the best for this. Just pay in full when the item comes. Even better is if you can buy something small that you payoff over a period of time, like £1.50 a week, that boots your rating a good deal (only if you stick to it though) I know that this is credit but it is nothing drastic.
Keep you bank account in good order and dont get overdrawn

The best way is to regularly pay all your bills on time, and gradually your credit rating will increase.

You don't. A credit rating is all about evaluating how good a credit risk you are. If you have no credit at all, there is no way of them evaluating if you'll repay a debt. If you're trying to establish credit, you have to have a job first and you might want to shop around for the "easiest" card to get. Your bank might be able to give you a Visa card that's tied to your current account so you can't spend more than you have. You can repay it and before you know it, you've a credit rating.

get a credit card, loan or buy something on credit.

Buy something from a mom and pop furniture store that extends credit and reports to the credit agencies. Pay the bill on time. This technique will build your credit.

apply for a credit card for people with low credit score. there will be a low credit limit, say £200 - £500 and a high interest charge 25% - 50% apr. make sure you use it a little every month and pay off the balance every month, thereby paying no interest at all. pretty soon ( about 6 months) you will get a credit limit increase and maybe the apr reduced. this will be evidence that you are building up your credit score. then try applying for a credit card with better terms and do the same as before.
also stay at the same address for as long as possible. make sure you are on the electoral role. be traceable and regular in your payment of bills. trust me this will all help enormously.

Weirdly, if you've never borrowed and paid back you have a credit rating of zero - ie you don't even exist in the minds of the likes of Experion. Quick way that usually works is to get a contract mobile phone, giving you some rating straight away, or buying something from an electrical retailer on credit.

If you have bad credit, find out which company is holding the records specific to your debt and speak to them. As I don't know your full story, if it's you - you'll have to pay off the debt, if it isn't it may be linked to the place you are living. Speak to the credit people - and the citizen's advice bureau.

you cant i have a friend who is in a very well paid job has a lot of income but no credit cards no catalogues or anythink

The truth is you need to pay for something 90 days same as cash. Some furniture stores still sell this way. They will report to the credit reporting agency at the end of 90 days and your "credit record" will have been born. Don't pay late or you won't like what the lil guy looks like.

manage your bank account well.

It does not matter if it is overdrawn (with an agreed overdraft), make sure you credit it every 30 days at least and make sure you do not go over your agreed overdraft amount if any.

thomasblaski
Have someone co-sign a credit card with you and pay on time.
Or, have them co-sign a car for you and pay on time . They are looking for timely payments.

You don't - a credit rating requires you to have conducted a credit agreement(s) properly

This one is 2 easy.... first all the things that show up on your credit report if you go to consumer-info.com and open an account and view your credit report it will show ur score and what companies see when request to look at your credit report.. The first thing to do is to start paying of any depts and loans that are falling behind. even if it is just a lil bit of the payment then you can still recieve credit as if you have paid the payment and it won't hurt you. Pay your payments ON TIME! and after about 6-9 months you start to see a slight change in your credit score depending on how long u keep your payments up in good standing within' no time you start to see lil by lil minor changes in your credit report and score... I hope this helps you out a lot!

my wife came from india had no credit history i was nearly bankrupt to build a credit history my wife started doing avon sending orders etc and paying on time register yourself on the voters roll at your address get a bank account if not got one and use it without going into debt manage your money in and out basically aftre about a year the bank will offer you acredit card themselves now after about 20 months of managing her account paying all bills on time in her name she now still does not have a brilliant credit rating but can get ceredit cards she currently has 4 with total credit of £6000 its a slow process

GLYN D
You need to get things on credit even if you don't want too or you wont get a credit rating pay on time or before time keep payments up to date credit rating goes up its that simple

DirtyPrettyThings
Buy things using your credit card, and the next week pay it off. It shows the bank you are good at paying back straight away, also make sure you pay all bills in your name on time.
