ROFL, this makes no sense as far as banks are concerned. The average loss on a repo is 8,000 dollars. They will tell you that the car is secured piece for the loan, etc.. the real answer is..
They dont want to loan money to people who needs the money to pay bills, or anything else that doesnt require collateral.
They dont want to finance your vacation...or your whatever else.
I hope I explained that right, and understand even though your loan officer but give you a list of bogus reasons, the truth is, they dont want to tell you the truth, because the last thing they want to do is argue with a customer over the real reason, and the real reason is they dont want to loan money for things you should have the money for. ( vacation, bills, etc.. ) |

Credit Ratings is an interesting subject. My guess for this is that with a car loan, the car is the collateral - meaning, if you are unable to make the payments the bank will come and reclaim you car and are not out of too much money. But a personal loan in unsecured, meaning the bank has nothing to claim if you ever miss any payments or stop paying alltogether. If you have a rough history with credit, this type of unsecured loan will be more difficult to get until you reestablish you credit again. Also, if you just got the car loan, your income to liability ratio might be too high for them to loan you money. |

Because the car is the security. If you don't make the payments on the car, they can come get it and resell it to get their money. On a personal loan, they have nothing to guarantee they will get their money back. Good luck! |

With the car loan the car is the security the bank has that either you pay them or get the car back. Personal loan depends on your relationship with your bank. They will see what income you have and what amount you have in your savings and if you have any overdraws ect... |
