How is the credit crunch affecting your spending?
are you going out less?
spending less on food shopping?
buying less luxeries?

I am holding out for the sales because they are going to be great this year with the recession. Shops are bound to reduce things massively. Desperately need some new shoes but no way am I going to pay full price. Actually most things I don't pay full price for - food (BOGOF offers or reduced quick sale stuff), clothes - mostly from charity shops or from ebay. I bike everywhere.
So I am more careful with my money and anybody would be a fool not to be in this climate!

Not really, when I moved out last year (living on my own with a mortgage), before the credit crunch started - I'm spending the same - meaning I was going out less, and less luxuries etc and my food shopping is tesco value if it's nice.

Hold my paw please
It isn't affecting me, I still do my food shop in Marks and Spencer

My sister went out for drinks with a friend in London and breezed into all the "celeb" haunts last week and nobody was there! It is affecting everybody.

I have subconcsiously been more careful with what I save, as opposed to what I spend.

Not at all. I am working my way out from under my debt and have not changed anything. I do not go out very often and keep my spending to minimum, except for the occasional splurge. I am looking to buy a house in about 1.5 years and I will be in a very good position to do so if I keep on my plan.

Yes and know.

I have always been on a budget with 2 kids and not being well and on benefits but i have always allowed my self a few luxaries. I save for most of them or my mum gives me the money and i pay her back. Like last week i needed new trainers as mine have holes in them She took me to a decent discount store, Soccer sport also known as sports world, were nothing is at full price, for £50 i brought my son, my partner and me a pair of trainers each and a few winter warmers for on the school run. Now i pay my mum back at £5.00 a week and will make sure i am paid back b4 i borrow more. OK i did not need to borrow £50 but she did say has my son got a hat scarf and gloves and trainers and i saw a decent pair of trainers for OH should have been £70 but were £9.99 my trainers were £7.99 and the rest was spent on son, he also was got a pair of wellys and normal boots.

I still pay my bills i still shop in tescos.

It really hasn't changed much. We've always been on a budget and we paid off our house about a year ago so we have no debt. We are just continuing with our money management program.

We do have some cash we would have invested, however we are waiting until the market stabilizes before we do a lot. We are continuing to put money in our 401(k) and Roth accounts though. When the market's down, it's a good time to pick up bargains!

less eating out, less driving, colder house, no new clothes, no luxuries unless they are from a garage sale for $1.00.

bud
don`t know why it has to affect people if they are getting paid the same as before, it`s the media thats scaring people into not spending as much.
