Collections and judgments stay on your credit for 7-years after they are filed. Bankruptcy stays for 10-years after discharge. Credit cards, installment loans 10-years. |

It can take up to 10 years. I have had terrible credit because I thought I was in love and wow! What a big fool I was.
My credit score was below 550 and now is on average 713.
I moved in with my dad with my 2 kids, and paid the bills off which were in the thousands of dollars. I negotiated with bill collectors who no longer exist to pay off old accounts. I paid off accounts I did not even know existed. Just FYI collection agencies can be as unscrupulous as crooks. Many of them are fly by night organizations who if you go back to find them in a year, they may have rolled up the carpet and you cannot find them and they never admit you paid up in full. True story! |

it takes up to two to three months sometimes longer you have to keep at them and yes somthmes errors do pop up on your credit you have to check your history offten keep up the good work with out good credit you cant get nothing . you pay high intrest rates . |

Usually, it takes 7 years for items to come off. Bankruptcies and Judgments 10 years. Sometimes if you dispute negative items (depending on how old they are), the credit bureau is obligated to remove these items if they are not verified by creditors. Additionally, you will have to keep up with the time frame because if the creditors don't respond or validate the disputed items within 30 days, then the bureaus will have to remove them from your credit. |

They never go away , they continually haunt you for the rest of your life. And no I'm not trying to be funny. Some things like bankruptcy are supposed to go away after 7 or 10 years. They say things are supposed to go away but they never really do. |
