ellx33 | How long does it take to get "good credit"? |
i got my first credit card, and in order to get credit cards from other stores you have to have a credit file. how long will it take before i develop a credit file? |

The magic number is 6.
A Credit file is established after you have made more than 6 payments - it is then recorded (within a month or two) to the three main credit bureaus.
Your credit after that is based on when companies rerport to the agencies - it varies. That's why paying on time is critical for a good credit score. |

here's what you do. get several credit cards and only buy a few small items on each credit card. Then, (and this is VERY IMPORTANT, destroy all but one that you want to keep using). Pay the bills off on all the destroyed credit cards, then close out the account with the credit card company. This way, your credit history will show that you have been trusted with credit by several creditors, and you paid your bills. But keep the amounts small so you CAN pay them off really fast. It shows others trusted you enough to give your credit, and you can be trusted to pay your bills, and you have a credit history. but if you don't destroy the cards after making a small purchase, your world will come tumbling down. just remember that part. good luck. |

Normally, it takes credit to get good credit. I started with a credit card and bought a large purchase and always made payments on time. You have to be in good standing and eventually it will increase your credit. It's also good to have "capital" such as money in a savings account showing that you have assets than can be liquidated if you're ever in trouble. |

ITS EASY TO GET GOOD CREDIT NO MATTER HOW BAD IT IS!!! YOU CAN DO IT IN MUCH SHORTER THAN 5-7 YEARS TOO!! The reason I know is because I own a very reputable and successful credit restoration company...I brought a guy from a 587 to a 675 in under 1 year ;) ....now...you can repair your own credit if you don't want to go through a professional agency...but at the same time you can paint your own house, mow your own lawn and do your own oil changes too....however...legal licensed credit restoration is a good idea if you don't want to go through the learning or hassle of it all......the best info available to answer all your questions is at CREDITINFOCENTER.COM |

In a case such as yours, where you are not trying to repair "bad credit" but rather are just starting out, you can expect that within a few months you will be receiving solicitations in the mail from other credit card companies inviting you to apply.
It would appear that the various credit card companies share or exchange info on customers who are maintaing good status on their cards. Make sure you pay on time and don't go over 50% of your credit limit. Even less than 50% is better. |

They analize your job and your credit history. Depends mostly if you have a lot of debt or if you're clean. |
