I have had this problem. It depends on the buyers Paypal account status. If he/she has enough funds in the account, or uses debit card automatic top-up to the account, it is instant. If money is transferred by bank transfer, it can take at least 5 days. |

If it is paid by e-cheque (payment pending) it can take up to 5 working days.
Otherwise it should be almost instant. |

That's a bit strange as it usually goes through straight away. I did have someone once who was having problems with her paypal because she had changed her name and asked me to be patient while she was sorting it out which she did. Why don't you email your buyer and find out what has happened. They might not know it has not gone through. Just had a thought - if the person's paypal account goes through to their credit card then there might be a problem there. Either way I wouldn't send the goods until it is cleared. Usually immediately by Pay Pal. Get in touch with the buyer if you can by email, and tell them you have not received payment. I hope you didn't sent the item out before you got payment. Most people specify on the page that items will only be dispatched when payment is received. Go to paypals site https://www.paypal.com/uk, log in and see if you can find information from that.

If a customer uses a credit card or his own Paypal funds to make a Paypal payment, the money is in your Paypal account right away.
If a customer uses some sort of check, then Paypal holds the money for a while.
In any case, you still need to move the money from your Paypal account to some other account where you can access it. If you have Paypal wire the money into your baank account, which is free, you will have it quickly. |

Pay pal is instant..
there could be 2 reasons for the delay
1 - the buyer has insufficent cleared funds in paypal , in which case the message should read ' PAYMET PENDING IN PAYPAL'' it can take 2 weeks to add additional funds
2- They havent payed quite simply, you should have a message either way.
Try contacting them directly ask for you payment, if they dont respond you go direct to ebay to resolve the problem, i think its 72 hours before you can compalin
