I lived in an apartment for 11 out of the 12 months on my lease and we only moved early because my 1 year old was always getting sick, I mean every 2 weeks we were at the doctor. It got so bad that she even went into a seizure. The doctor told us to go stay somewhere else for a couple weeks so we did and she wasn't sick and when we went back in she was sick again. It was well known that there were drugs in the apartments next to us, we even called the cops on some people doing drugs in the hall. Well our doctor gave us a medical note to give to the apartment management saying that it would be in our daughters best interest to leave, but they are sticking us with a $1,400 early term. lease fine. We're not going to pay it but it's on my credit report. Does that fall off in so many years? |

You could contact a lawyer and see if they can force the apartment complex to remove it immediately since the doctor determined that the living conditions were detrimental to your daughter's health. Threaten to sue their a**es, I bet it will be removed so fast it will make your head spin.
It's seven years for regular defaults such as this, ten years for some bankruptcies. |

seven years, from the date of last activity. Even after the seven years you may have to write in to have it remove from your report through one of the reporting agencies. like Experian, etc...
I would have an attorney request they take that off due to the circumstances and even if they don't you can send in a comment that is put on you report of this issue that gives your side, creditors Can read this and consider it when making decisions about extending credit to you. |

i believe it stays on your credit for about 7 years..I would contact a lawyer about the 1400 you should not have to pay that..good luck |

Takes 7 years from the day you pay it. You can get out of paying it though because it was unsafe living conditions. My suggestion is to send a bill to the apartment complex for your daughters medical bill. If you go to a lawyer they might even get you some previous months rent back (lawyers are sneaky like that) |

you can fight that, you have a doctors letter stated the dangers for your child. If it goes on your credit report it takes 5 too 7 years.But usually the owner will send you too court to pay. |

Anything good that is on your credit report stays on for 10 years. Anything negative stays on for 7 years starting from the last payment due date. Since it was rent, it will probably show up as a collection account/bad debt. You can contact all 3 credit agencies and ask to leave a statement with the record. What that will do is that anyone who requests your credit report can read your statement about the negative mark. |
