If you top your credit cards off, and leave the country, this can be considered an act of Terrorism, and Theft. A Felony will stay on your record for life. Good Luck.

There will always be a record of charge-offs on your financial background check attached to your name and social security number. However, with time, the impact on your credit score will lessen and your ability to secure credit will improve. Creidt card companies are willing to re-extend you credit because they have insurance that pays them when they charge-off bad debt. Bankruptcy - the legal discharge of your debts - adversly effects your credit in the US for 8 to 10 years. |

Supposedly debt will stay on your report for 7 years. But, even if it is off you credit report, you will still owe the debt unless you go through bankruptcy court to clear your debts. |

At least seven years on your report. They drop off eventually. Your credit report will have the date that the information from each account drops off your report. |

My sincere advice to you is never never try this. As the credit card company (i.e. Visa, MC, AMEX or Diners) has an international presence. They will make you an international defaulter. You will not be able to leave the your home country if you ever come back and neither will get any kind of other credit card or any kind of loans also.
Even if the credit card company writes it off as a bad debt, it will be a very very big loss for you financially as well as emotionally. |
