credit cards can have any number of digits that the creditor wishes to use. If you are referring to bank cards, they typically have 16

16 digits, and Visa always starts with a 4 and mastercard always starts with a 5, american express starts with a 6. there are 7 digits in ink at the back of a credit card and the last 3 digits are the card verification number.u need this if booking anything online. :)))

Visa, mastercard, Discover all have 16. I'm not sure about American Express but I'm sure they do also. This is for credit cards or debit cards. If it's an ATM card ( no logo) it can have different amounts/
