the money they make is on the interest they charge consumers. that money sits in an account making interest. that money is lent to other people at 29% interest. if they write off a debt its deducted from their income taxes. they sell the debt and make money from that. they dont lose anything. |

Depends on the credit card company--the big ones are BILLIONS AND BILLIONS. If there is a particular company you're looking for, do a search in Yahoo finance where you can find their financial statements with their Earnings and Net Income. |
