How much will banks typically loan out to someone with no credit?
I just turned 18 and I want to build my credit. I have decided that taking out a loan would be the best way to do this. If you have other suggestions, go ahead and try to change my mind! =)

Build some credit with a store credit card, and pay something off over time. That should be a good start.

banks typically lend out nothing to someone with no credit. try getting a credit card and building some credit first

Don't take out a loan. Even if you find a bank to loan you money, the terms will be horrible since you are so young and have no credit. Ask your bank if it has a credit card you can get that's tied to your checking or savings account. Pay off that card each month. The limit should be small, say $500. Doing that will build your credit.

all you need to do is get a credit card doesn't matter which one and for 6 months put 25-50 dollars on it a month and pay it immeadetly when bills come then you will have outstanding credit and you wont be overextended to the point where banks will not lend to you because you have too much out on credit i.e. car loan student loan ect. ect.

you have to show to whoever you get a loan from what you want and how much it will cost... so, when you go for that 'awesome' loan and 'free' money, make sure you have a plan before you go asking them for a loan. otherwise they think you will blow it on candy and cigarettes.

At 18, you will be lucky to find as bank that will loan you anything without a co-signer. But, you could try and maybe get $500.00 you will have to tell why you want it and to get good credit, make the payments on time. Good Luck

Point7Q
If I found a bank that would loan money with no credit history, I would ask why their office is in the back of an alley.
Seriously: Get a credit card, use it responsibly, pay it off on time every time.

the best thing for you to do to build credit would be to get a secured credit card. Any bank can explain how you do this, it involves opening a savings account that serves as your line of credit....

Mr. Niceguy
um yeah im gonna go with 200mil
