as far as i am aware it is 18, although i wouldn't personally recommend it, i got my first card around that age, and although i have only used my cards for things i needed like books for school, gas, and now that i have a daughter, for her, i am in alot of debt, and due to unforseen circumstances i am having trouble with paying them, they might be good for emergencies, but you have to be very careful |

No offense but you would be silly to apply for a credit card. You realize you have to pay the money back right and with tons of interest??? They will offer you special deals like only 3% (in small print: as long as you are never late on a payment) Then they tell you they didn't get it on time even when you paid two weeks ahead of time and they jack the interest up to 25% and that is alot if you think about it. So if you are young and you just work at the GAP or something, don't do it. Seriously, don't do it. |

You can apply for a credit card at any age. Even your dog can apply. The question is, whether or not the company will grant you the credit card. You have to have an income, and hopefully a fairly clean credit report. There are credit cards that you can buy almost anywhere, Walgreens, K-Mart, etc., and put a monetary amount on that card. It actually has the Visa or MasterCard logo. There are also credit card matching services, who will match dollar for dollar the amount you put on the card. Of course, they have a limit, and of course you will have to pay their money back, but they are ALOT easier to qualify for than a 'standard' card. Remember, the cleaner your credit report is, the lower interest rate you will qualify for. GreenDot.com has a good pay as you go Visa and MasterCard. I just bought one recently. Good luck! |

Eligibility
To avail of the credit card, you should be at least 18 years of age. You should be employed or have some regular source of income. These are two important criteria and if you can give convincing proof to demonstrate your suitability, you will be easily approved. You may have failed to pay back the old credit card debt or some flaw may be present in your credit report. In this situation, getting a card will be tough. |

you have to be 18 but please rember to watch how you use it the intrest rates are very high and if you take the card to the limit it can take for ever to pay off because intrest i personally dont advive them for anyone for the intrest rates |
