In order to be held responsible for a contract you have to be over 18. Some people get around this by having the card in their parents name. The parents take on the contractual obligation. |

You have to sign a contract saying you agree to pay the bill.
A contract signed by someone younger then 18 is NOT enforcable by the law.
So, if you are 17, get a credit card, with a limit of say $5,000, went out, bought $5,000 worth of stuff, and refused to pay the bill, the credit card company would not be able to go after you.
