If you're a student, you might want to consider a 'student' credit card. They're designed specifically for college students with little or no income. You can find a complete list here:
http://www.asapcreditcard.com/student-cards.html
You have a few options-- Visa, Mastercard and Discover. There's really no difference except where they're accepted. You can use all of them almost anywhere. But Visa is accepted at the most locations worldwide-- followed by Mastercard and Discover.
Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK! |

MasterCard is one of the largest credit card issuers in the United States. The reward programs offered with Gold and Platinum MasterCard are truly exceptional. Providing a great value in terms of rent saving, reduced repair costs, travel rewards, and a lot more these reward cards are true money savers.
MasterCard provides insurance for its credit card holders. As MasterCard is growing in popularity and is being accepted worldwide, MasterCard has launched its global service to cater to this growing clientele.
If you travel a lot MasterCard has a lot to offer for your travel and stay in a hotel to be truly rewarding. The travel assistance services offered by MasterCard will help you greatly. The purchase assurance coverage, baggage delay coverage, extended warranty coverage will take the blues out of your travel and renting experiences. While traveling if you are having a MasterCard gold or platinum card you are covered for hotel/motel burglary, lost or damaged luggage also. no difference between cards. just some place take one and not the other, you can apply all you want just depends on if you have credit or not if you will get the card. You don't need income my mom has credit cards and she has no income and hasn't had any for 15 years and no the cards are not in my fathers name either (always been a joke has credit cards and no job). But warning the More you apply and get turned down also effects your credit rating in a negative way |

even if you can get one without income, if you're a student without income at the moment then i suggest a debit card instead of credit because you'll less likely drown in debt that way. |

Lots of cards to compare and apply for. There are even a few just for college students. Compare the cards, select one and apply on-line. Alot of the time you can get an instant decision...
Good Luck and be careful, to much credit can be a bad thing |

just read your spam emails. you have already been pre-qualified. just call 1-800-screwme. any restaraunt that accepts credit cards has an application form near the register. a mastercard is easir to get than a visa especially for first time applicants. you can try a secured card using money in a savings account as collateral on your credit card debt. visa.com |

There is no difference between a Visa card and a MasterCard except the name in the way it is used and billed. Students are not normally accepted for a credit card because they have no income. Perhaps the students you have seen using credit cards are "second holders" on their father's credit card account. When you fill out the credit card application, you are given the option of a second holder card (for a partner or family member) on your account |

1. I know of no real difference between the two.
2. Credit card companies are more than happy to burden you with debt for the rest of your natural life and don't give a flip about whether you have a job or not. Your best bet if you absolutely must get a credit card is look around for secured credit cards, in other words you give them (for example) $300 and you have $300 worth of credit. You will be putting a limit on how much you debt you are getting into because you won't be able to charge more than the $300. You still have to pay the minimum every month. Many credit card companies are sending cards to university students and that is a really, really bad idea unless you value being in debt.
Please think twice about getting a credit card. Why do you need it? Think about the fact that you are really paying for an item 4, 5, 6 or more times over when you pay for it over time and at the outrageous amounts of interest these companies charge.
Remember, debt is bondage. There are many people in bankruptcy court right now because of credit card debt
Think about this for a long time. Do you really need credit? For what? How are you going to pay for the items you purchase?
I wish you the best and hope you will really stop and think about this before you jump into a sea of debt. Easy to get into, hard as heck to get out of. |

The only difference between a visa and mastercard is the places where you can use the card. Visa is usually accepted more places then Mastercard is. Check out this website for more research, you can even get a card made specifically for students!
http://www.creditcarddeals.ws/
And yes, you can apply for a credit card even if you have no job! The credit card companies want your money! Just make sure you do your research and pay your bills on time! This will help you in the future with getting the best deals on credit cards, loans, buying a house or a card. The better your credit, the better the deals for you! |
