Get a good paying job and pay all your bills. The great thing about this simple plan is that it WILL build your credit up, but if you don't spend more than you make, and live at or below your means, you won't NEED credit. Take the money that you are saving and invest it, so that your money grows and increases your standard of living.
In today's modern age, there is no need to make yourself a slave to a bank in the name of credit. |

A small loan, perhaps? You'll always need to get a loan when you buy a car (if it isn't a clunker you bought from somebody), and car dealerships usually finance their own loans.
Other than that, you can always get a credit card somewhere. Just make sure you make your payments on time (slow pays can hurt your credit), and spend just enough that you can make small payments every month. |

well you might want to go out and get a credit card, thats how you start building credit, other ways would be to take out a loan, but good luck with that one specially in these tough economic times. |

My first credit was a jcpenny card. Try any dept store card.
Once you get it, charge small things, then pay the whole balance off before the due date. Continue for a couple of months. The next time you apply for credit it will be much easier
You could also apply for a small loan (with a co-signer) when you pay it off, you will be able to get a loan in your name only |

Get a cell phone (contract) and pay the bill on time every month.
Get a credit card for people with new or no credit. Check out the following link for a good first credit card. You'll start out with a low limit like 500 dollars, but pay your bill on time every month and you'll build credit good credit (plus your limit will get bigger).
A bit of advice that I wish I had gotten when I opened my first card: Plan on keeping this card open forever. It's helps your credit record to have a credit line that has been opened for a long time... |

There are many credit cards available to people with no credit. Orchard Bank and First Premier are two of the most popular issuers. You'll also have to decide between 'secured' and 'unsecured'. Since you won't pay a security deposit with an unsecured credit card, I would try that first.

you dont need credit cards, buy a utility and pay montly, for instance if you want real good credit, heres a scam, buy like a refrigator set up monthly plan and pay on time, then your credit is 100% and you could buy anything no prob. its a very good scam too. because if you dont pay on time credit goes down, so if you only have one payment on time, its 100% my dad did it and bought a house no problem. |

If you can get a co-signer to help you get a small loan, that's one way to start. The loan has to last at least 8 months for it to count on your credit score. Or if you have some money saved, buy a bank CD, and use it as collateral on a loan. That will get you started.
But stay current with the repayment plan, don't be late, and pay the required amount, or you'll be doing the opposite, messing up your credit. |

One of the best ways to get credit is to either get a department store credit card and use it when you already have the cash to pay it off.
Another would be to go to your bank and get a small loan and pay it off ON TIME each month
....Or maybe buy a vehicle .... all this will help build your credit, but be careful not to over-do it and not be able to pay it off |

Ive heard the best way is to get a credit card. They hand them out like candy and can really boost your credit. Just be careful using it. |
