How to get bad things off of your credit for free?
old debt off credit report

I am not sure about the sites listed but there is a lot of useful info out there on the web. It will fall off itself in 7 years )not 71/2). Also the dispute with credit bureau approach does work,, you can do it yourself for free and I have never heard of someone having the negative information put back.

If it's legitimate, it will age off 7-1/2 years from the date of first deficiency.

You can play the ole dispute everything over and over and hope the creditor fails to respond and the item is removed. But the negatives tend to come back when the creditor next sends updates to the credit bureau.

Making repeated disputes will also get you tagged by the credit bureau. You might find it very difficult to get even errors removed.

Hi,
I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and avoid bankruptcy. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate.I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:

You can't - if it's true.

indeed
go to: http://creditboards.com/
register (it's free)

then go to 'Credit Repair School for Beginners':
http://creditboards.com/forums/index.phpshowtopic=142032
and learn how to do your own credit repair.

You can read a lot of their forums even if you don't register, but you'll have full access and easier search capability, if you register.
Doing credit repair incorrectly can make your problems WORSE, so read a lot first, before trying anything.

You can use credit repair agency to fix it - for example this one - http://freecreditreport.sinfree.net - They can clean lots of such bad stuff from your credit report - and do it much faster than yourself, so your credit will go up fast.

it depends on which state you live in. i know the statue of limitation for a bad credit debt is 7 years in Texas. i am currently waiting for a bad debt to be removed off my record, it will be off my record this August.

What you ask is impossible for at least several years. You have made bad decisions in your life and now you must start over. Once those things are reported they will stay for some time. The solution is to change your way of thinking..
Lets say YOU are a large company selling merchadise. People buy from you and you extend them credit.. but they do not pay when they should and your company goes broke.. NOW DO YOU GET IT? Start over and purchase what you NEED and NOT what you want.... Start a savings acct. put in a certain amount of money into it each week or month .....BUT DO NOT TOUCH IT..It will be for emergency use ONLY. When you are finally at a stage where you are able to pay on time then I am sure somebody will help you.. God Bless

First, read the articles here.

http://www.managedebttoday.com/handling_collections.htm

The form letters for:

(1) cease and desist.
(2) validation of debt
(3) dispute item on credit report
(4) and offer for pay-for-deletion

are contained this hyperlink:

http://www.creditliberty.com/credit-repair/credit-repair-letter.html

Clearing up your credit is a read, write, and follow-up campaign. Nothing more, nothing less.

Good luck.

My answer to you is to follow what bdancer2 has said. It is the only sensible answer so far.
You can dispute items that are not yours but that is all. And there is no magic bullet to remove validated debts.

Also, the time frame for reporting derogatoy items is 7 and 1/2 years NOT 7 as per the following: (read it close)
As of December 29, 1997 the reporting period runs 7 ½ years (7 years plus 180 days) from the date (month and year) of the last delinquency (known as "last missed payment:).
So, regardless of how long a creditor waits to charge off, sell or transfer a debt, they must report the true and correct "delinquent or last missed payment" date (month and year) that preceded the creditor's action.
3. Example after Dec 29, 1997:
A payment was due on January 10, 2000 but, you failed to make that payment and never made another payment. The Creditor waits until August 2000 to take action (charge off, send to collections, sell/transfer debt, etc.) on the debt.
The 180 day count began on January 2000, (your last missed payment month) and runs until July 2000 at which time the seven (7) year reporting period begins and runs until July 2007.

Dispute online using your free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com

I have some free information on how to do this on my website. Check my profile for the link.

If you have burned your three free credit reports already this year, you'll have to pay for them to dispute again.
