i joined the bally total fitness with a friend like a couple months ago. he doesn't have a bank account so i co-sign for him. the total amount of his and my member ship is $4068. couple months later he made up some excuse and find some not so bright reasons to argue with me. and tell me that our friendship is over when i didn't even do anything. and when i asked him to make the payment every month so the bank won't overdraft me anymore. he told me that he didn't go the gym. why should he pay for it. it shock me because i thought he were my friend. i trusted him so that's why i co-sign for him. as most of you guys know, the economy is going down and it's so hard for me to find a job right now. im having a hard time finding money to pay for both of his and my membership. so is there anyway i can get that money from him legally? $2000 might not sound much to you guy but it is a lot to me right now since i just got out of a bad relationship and trying to start my life over. please help... |

Sounds like you'll have to sue him in small claims court..Some of Bally's memberships can be sold, so you can try to recover some of the membership fee if you can sell it..(maybe on Ebay).. Then go to small claims court to try to recoup the rest.. |

Take him to one of those tv court shows! Of course, you wouldn't know about these because if you did--you would know by now to not ever co-sign with someone not even your own family member. |

That person sounds like an asshole... Never Trust anyone in life only yourself and family depends. If it is possible to sue him.. First tell him that he should stop messing with you and that your a good friend of his and you really trusted him. Even if he did not go you payed from him and he never told you to cancel it or anything. 2000 is a lot. If you can't get it back you learned a big lesson in life which is not to trust even your best friend. A friend is just a Friend and you shouldn't do that big of things for them. Study hard look for a job don't waste any time on friends or parties right now.and try to become successful.Ya I really feel sorry for you though. If you can't do anything see if its possible to sue them and would you have a chance? Good luck to you man and May god help you. Hopefully you'll get somewhere high in life |

You co-signed for him, so you are responsible for the payments as well. You signed and said that if he didn't make the payments, you would. That's why it's always a good idea not to co-sign for anyone but a spouse. You can take him to small claims court, or better yet, call the finance company, explain what's going on and ask to settle the debt. |

Only thing you can do is to pursue a small claims court case, but that's going to cost you more money. I hope you learned your lesson in this. Make sure if you do go to small claims court you save every piece of information that points to him owing you the money. |

lol $2000 is a lot to many people. You have to ask him there again and if he still refuses it, get your paperwork and receipts and tell him your taking him too court. That will get him moving and paying you back. , He sounds like no kind of friend, Dont be scared when you say it its about your money and you need it. Good luck |
