How to remove paid off derogatories from credit report?

I will answer the question with a question, why? Your credit score will be more positively impacted by a previously derogatory now paid trade line than it would by having it removed entirely. There are only two ways to remove a trade line, they age off or you dispute the trade line and the merchant doesn't respond to the OSCAR inquiry in a timely fashion so it is removed.

They will remove themselves when they expire. Usually 7 years.

Write a letter to all three of the credit reporting agencies stating that you have paid your bills which were derogatory.

Since the accounts are "paid in full" and are legit debts that you've owed and paid, you have to wait 7 years from the "paid in full" date for it to fall off your account. Since the account has gone all the way through to "paid in full", you've claimed full ownership and responsibility of the debt. Unless you prove the debt was NEVER yours, you have to wait the 7 year period.

To the people wanting him to send "dispute letters": You can only dispute an item on your credit report that you feel is FALSE. If you send in a dispute letter, it is only taken off your report until the company sends proof of the debt back to the credit reports. IF they don't send anything within 30 days it will not be placed back onto your report, but the chances of that are SLIM. NO information is going to change!

They should be marked as paid.
But they will stay on your report for 7 years.

Since you have paid the accounts, you have stated you did owe the debts. This voids you from being able to go about validating the debt, as earlier posters mentioned. One way they will be removed is if you request the collection agency to. This most likely will be impossible to do, so don't hold your breath. All you can do is wait for your state's statute of limitations to come into effect. As time goes by, the accounts will have less of an impact.

Elle,

The paid off derogs will only be removed from your credit report early if they were mistakes. If they were legitimate derogs and you paid them off, you'll have to wait 7 years for them to "fall off" your credit report.

If they were mistakes, which I'm assuming their not if you paid them, then they can be removed or fixed by the creditors and the credit bureaus.

Even if they stay on your report, as time goes by your score will come back up and their presence on your report will mean less and less.

simple go online to all 3 credit report companys sorry i dont remember all 3 names, get a report 1 at a time , then dispute each one ,on the website they have a section for that , if they dont responed you win and it`s off, if they do then you have to wait 7 years or pay them .

but do it online it`s easy
