Donxt | How to stop collection calls ? |
How to stop Collection(debt) calls at my work ? I don even know how did they got my work number ? |

To stop calls at work, all you have to do is tell the collector (when they call you obviously) that your boss has put you on notice that you will be terminated if these call continue.
The creditor, by law, has to quit calling work if your boss says stop.
Then send them a letter requesting proof of debt AND inform them that all communication is to be written by US postal service. Send it Certified mail, return receipt requested and keep a copy of the letter.
Good luck |

Start making payments, even if they are small. But keep making them on a regular basis.

find the name of the company and address and write them a letter
certifted return recipet asking them not to contact you
(when they call again youmight want to try tell him the number they
are calling is your work number and could they not call at work?
(not sure if that will work) but you might try to speak with a supervisor
or the manager of the collection company |

legally, once you have requested in writing for them to stop contacting you at work, they must abide by this, otherwise they can be sued for harassment and your chance at losing the job because they keep calling on company time. You need to verbally tell them that the number they are calling is a work number and request that they not call there again and following up with a written request, return receipt requested. That should stop the work calls. Home calls they cannot call after 9 pm, if they do, you can file a complaint. If you have caller ID, just don't answer it is your best option. |

It is actually against the law in some states for them to contact you at work or to speak to an employer, relative, or friend about your debt. I would contact a lawyer. There are a lot of law professionals who will take on your case with no money up front, and you might end up not having to repay your debt. |

Try paying your bills on time. If that's impossible, tell the caller that you cannot take personal calls at work. If they continue to call, call the phone company and report the caller. |

you can get a cease and desist order from them to stop bothering you at work. thing is, they are going to keep coming and coming and coming until something happens. of course, their tenacity will depend on how much that you owe them. if it's a couple of hundred dollars, they probably won't do much. it it's 5k or more, they are going to do something and if you don't take action, they will eventually drag you into court. why have a sword of damacles hanging over you? best to try to get this taken care of while you still have options. |

Answer the phone and tell them you have absolutely no intention of paying the debt and would like to proceed with civil proceedings.
This is the only way to stop the calls because your file will be forwarded to the legal department for possible litigation.
Once you clearly state you have no intention of paying, they are required by law to stop calling. |

As uncomfortable as it may be, you HAVE to talk to them. If you at least make some sort of payment arrangement, they will stop harassing you. Obviously, you are working, so you are making money. I know someone who had the collection agency call their neighbors! They can get any number they want. You had better talk to them before it gets even more out of hand. Good luck. |
