I got my first credit card when i was eighteen. I established credit by buying a car first and then was able to get a few dept cards, and then i was able to get a visa card. I just started to research credit online, to try and get the credit background I needed so that I knew I would be approved for what I wanted. There are a ton of search engins out there that you can check out. Dont settle for anything you are not comfortable with. If you dont want 18% intrest, then dont apply for a card with that %. Make sure you only aply for what you want, and what you know you will be approved for. If you have any doubt you will get denied chances are you will. Also If you want a lower intrest rate and dont have credit established then you will need to get a co signer to establish your credit first.

I have listed a consumer source below that issues credit cards to people with no credit.

Try going to your bank. I would never apply online. To much fraud and identity theft. Your bank can help you and if you dont have a bank go to one and ask them. I suggest Wells Fargo!!

Get a rewards credit card :
Reward credit cards reward you depending on the amount you spend on the credit card. Usually, you can collect rewards through 3 methods. One method involves earning cash back on the card, which is generally a certain percentage of each amount you spend. The next method involves giving points or any other type of token to the customers to accrue.

Have you had a credit card before? What about a loan of some type (auto, personal, etc)? If not... and you're just starting out, you'll be limited to the types of credit cards you can qualify for. For a list of credit cards to help build / improve your credit, visit:

http://www.asapcreditcard.com/unsecured-offers.html

Although these credit cards tend to have higher interest rates (and additional fees) when compared to 'standard' credit cards-- they'll help you build and establish your credit history. Eventually, with regular on-time payments-- you'll be able to qualify for better offers with lower APR's and less fees.

Of course, if you've already established some credit-- you should be able to apply for any offer you choose. You can compare even more offers here:

http://www.asapcreditcard.com

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!
