DON'T DO IT!!!
Go with the checking card from your bank if you must! All credit cards are scams! Cards are the best way to get into crushing debt and now you can't get out from under them using bankrupcy!! |

Go ahead, make sure you can pay for what you buy. |

Age doesn't mean anything.
Do you work?
Atleast 8 hours a day for 5 days?
Responsible with your actions and money? |

Go ahead...I recommend a fake name, social security number, a "black box" to re-route collection agency calls and be sure to provide an "address-within-an-address" to avoid them contacting you by mail. Your not old enough nor responsible enough for a credit card yet... |

I'm 18 too but I wouldn't touch a credit card with a 40 foot pole.
My reason: I am afraid I will spend too much and end up in debt. I would only take this situation if I really had to go into debt like if I went to uni next year and I had no money saved up in my first year.
Trust me, it's better to stick to debit card. Once I saw my cousin's balance and it said like over 2000... she was 18 at the time but now I realise it was over -2000. Don't do it! |

American Express Blue card. It was my first card and it is awesome. The rewards program is great.
Be careful with credit cards, coming from first hand experience. |

The best tip is: Don't!!!!! There is no need for credit cards. Borrow as little as you can for your entire life. If you can't afford to pay cash for something right now, how will you do it next month? |

Visa and MasterCard are more widely accepted than any other. Look for a low fixed rate. Don't be lured in by a low or 0% intro rate. All of my cards are from Chase, over the years they have shown to be the best company compared to others, at least for me. Also if you drive alot you may want to look into a card that offers cash back on gas. Chase has those as well, but the interest rate isn't that great. And most importantly, pay the balance off each month. If you can't do that then you are not ready for a credit card. |

Try for a card with a low interest rate; there are ads for credit card companies everywhere; either that or see a bank. Try to stay away from American Express; they make you pay your entire balance every month. Good luck to you! |

don't do it! it will lead you down a path to debt. but since you are asking i will tell you that it is probably easiest to get a department store credit card first. then the major credit card offers will find their way to your mailbox. my first card was a target card. |

Don't get too many credit cards. Be careful-- make sure you pay your credit card at least two weeks before the due date.
Don't get a card w/ an annual fee. |
