Go to Capital One and apply for a card. They have cards for people with exelent credit, ok credit, no credit - for students, and people who need to improve their credit. You might have to pay for the credit card, but that will only be 19 dollars a year, which is extremely cheap. They are really good about accepting people and there finance charges are low. Good luck.

You didn't ask a question that can be answered.

Most credit card companies will not accept you unless you have a job and a good starting credit record.

I think the person who posted above me has offered good advice for you here.

Your best bet is to try at a couple of other banks. The problem is, if you apply like crazy for credit all over the place, your credit score will continue to decline. Personal unsecured loans and lines of credit have higher standards than other kinds. Friends and family may be the only choice you have. Try not to fall prey to loan sharks, that give you quick cash and charge exorbitant fees. Maybe find a lawyer who can work for you pro bono (free). Sometimes if you have a particularly needy situation, the attorney may find pity for you and write off his work for you on his taxes...

You really don't need a credit card.
You need a personal loan.
Try a local bank or credit union. If you have something to secure the loan to like a car or some money in a bank account that will help.
You can also see about getting the lawyer to reduce fees or take payments over time.
If that doesn't work, you may need to hire a cheaper lawyer or try Legal Aid.
You may have to get a second job or try selling some of your stuff that you don't need.
You could try to see if the lawyer will let you barter some of your time to do stuff for the lawyer's office (volunteer to do courier work or something like that.)

<>You sound desperate, and desperation is NOT a good time to start using a credit card. You will find yourself very far in debt in no time, which will only compound your troubles. Explore other avenues, such as Legal Aid, or bartering for services, or finding a lwyer who will allow you to pay off your debt over time with little or no interest.

I suggest talking with your bank about a "secure" credit card. I did that when I was 18. You put the amount of money you want into this account(secured credit) and it is like a credit card. You pay a monthly minimum balance and at the end once you have paid it off, you get your money back. With my bank, the minimum you could put in was $500. So depending on how your bank works I would ask them about that.

Call legal Aid.
