PAY IT BACK. contact your creditors explain your situation and offer to pay back as much aas you can sensibly afford. Eventually you will pay it off.

OK What are you in debt with? All credit cards? Car and credit cards? What you need to do right now is get rid of all credit cards except one for emergencies. $10,000.00? Do you own a house?I'm thinking no. Take a deep breath and write down all of your debt on a piece of paper, include your debt and your monthly bills, (utilities, rent, gasoline insurance) Then put down your monthly income. Somehow you are going to have to manipulate the debt so that your income can cover it. Do you own your car? If not I would suggest working on that wholeheartedly while you're trying to take a stab at the others. (As I've always said "They can reposess my car but they'll never try to reposess my Mastercard!" Then is there any family that you could borrow from to make the debt right and pay them back? If not then you just have to suck it up. Call all your creditors and tell them that you're in over your head, they would rather work with you and get you to pay the debt you owe than have you become insolvant and be left trying to figure out what to do with you. At this juncture if you're not behind, do everything in your power to stay that way. At 21 you don't know what crappy credit will do foryou, but from experience I can tell you...you NEVER get over it. Good Luck PS DO ANYTHING< EVERYTHING BUT DO NOT FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY... the laws are much stricter now and it's hard to get it all written off AND you just don't know how it will affect you down the line. Many job applications ask if you have filed and you'll be eliminated right away, as well as you'll never be able to be bonded, get a license in ANYTHING that has to do with money (Securities, Real Estate, Insurance, Acoounting) DO NOT FILE BANKRUPTCY!!!

Don't feel too bad.I'm 22 and 28,000 dollars in dept and I manage just fine.Learn to manage your money. Also, further your education. You can't expect to make 100,000 a year without a degree unless you have some talent or a Master plan to earn wealth.

As the gentleman prior to my posting expressed to contact your credit cards and let them know of your situation - that is one good way.

Another way is to declare bankruptcy if you feel overwhelmed by the debt - this is done through a lawyer.
However, there is a price to pay for declaring bankruptcy, so hopefully you can work with your creditors and learn how to use credit more wisely so you won't run into this situation again - esp. a gentleman so very young!!

Snowball your bills, Make a list of the smallest to the largest, Make Minimum payments on all but the smallest. Double the payment on it every month until paid off, continuing the minimum payments on everything else. DO NOT CLOSE any credit cards after being paid off. Next take the doubled amount on the first payment and add it to the minimum payment on the next smallest payment. Keep repeating this process.. You will be out of debt before you know it as our payments will be accelerated with this proven process.

Cut up your CC's, contact all creditors and set up a plan with each. They will work with you opposed to loosing there money. Control your spending habits. If you cannot pay cash, you do not need it.

If it's CC debt, and you are in good standing with them, you can call your creditors and ask them to lower your APR. At first, you will be told no, but don't take that for an answer. Ask to speak to their supervisor. Keep asking until you get a yes. Someone will listen.

Some people say pay the CC with the lowest balance, others say pay the one with the highest interest rate. I personally went with the lowest balance. It shows progress quicker.

Filing bankruptcy is not as easy with the new laws. You used to be able to file like going to the bathroom. You cant just pick Chapter 7 or 13 anymore. First you have to go to mandatory credit counseling. After that, it is based on income. The higher your income, the less likely you are to file Chapter 7.

credit repair
Lenders want to be paid, if they think you will pay your bill if they waive the late fee, they often remove the fee in exchange for prompt payment. creitors will often charge you aover limit or late fee for non-payment. now you have to pay more and get a mark on your credit You can phone the lender and get the charge waived in some cases, let them know your having problems ask them if they can temporarily lower the interest rate or stop the interest charges this will give you a chance to catch up. (this may also close the account, but may keep them from reporting the account as delinquent). this is one of the first services a will credit repair company will perform. You can this for yourself, at no cost.

second job lots of people do it.

I'm with Joonbug on this one. You can also contact CareOne Credit Counseling. They're non-profit and having debt in couseling looks good on your creidt report. They can also sometimes get the debt paid off faster and for less money. It's the best thing you can do with that much debt.
