Try to avoid the subject. Stick to the good atributes that you have. If it does happen to come up (some times its company policy) then tell them that you were young and had no direction (or the actual reason, or that you were just going through a very hard time).
Sometimes companies tend not to care. The only reason they do it is because they have to (company policy) and have no choice. It might not even make a difference what it is. They might just question you and leave you alone. |

There must be a reason for the bankruptcy. So tell them what happened. Things in life happen that are out of our control. Hopefully there is a valid reason for all the bad credit information including the bankruptcy. |

I don't know that it's possible to make a bankruptcy look good!!! unless you could explain that it was caused by an accident or some other tragdy. If it was just you screwing up, I'd want to move right on past you! It would be a trust issue to me. I don't trust people that don't pay their bills! |

Dont worry about it, usually they pull a credit report to look for fraud. Most people have had bankruptcys.
Just go in dont talk about it, give them your social information. It will look like most of the other ones. They will be looking for information, other then you think.
Judgements, they might check what they are for. Ie fraud. And to prove you are a real person. We dont give a **** you were late on a mortgage. We might put you into credit counseling, at our expense. We are looking for something else. You have a judgement from a court. Maybe it was a criminal judgement. We dont give a **** about a 30 day credit card late.
Seriously dont worry about it, they arent looking for what you think they are. |

Tell them the truth. You were stupid and irresponsible with money and had to declare bankruptcy. But you have gotten help to start anew and be responsible. Never lie , the truth will always get out. |

If they are concerned with your credit enough to actually go to the time and expense to pull it, then having the negative information will most likely exclude you from the position. Aside from having proof that it is from medical bills due to a family member's illness, then there really is no way to put it in good light. But, keep in mind that some companies tell ALL potential employees that they are going to check credit, and they only actually check credit on potential employees who will handle the companies assets. If you have poor credit, they feel you are a greater threat of stealing from the company, etc. |
