this website is fantastic for money issues -

it is your fault as you must have spent it to be in debt!
You can declare bankruptcy, however it will affect your credit rating so you wont be able to get any loans out for a while (probably a good thing)
Citizens Advice are worth their weight in gold, really helped me and my partner out.
You need to analyse your spending habits and your budget properly.
DONT get an IVA!!!!!!!
You could try a consolidation loan, but use it as a last option as you'll be paying it off for probably as long as you would any mortgage!
Dont get stressed out about it, its not going to help anything, it will only make it worse.
I dont know how much your paying out a month but if your spending money on things you dont really need (take outs/nights out) then stop!
When out shopping for food buy things that will last you a while, and look for buy one get one free etc
Your best bet is to go to citizens advice! |

No-one will write off your debt. And although you suggest it's not your fault, you must have spent the money at some point in your life to be in this state now.
Talk to the Citizens Advice people about a referral to a debt counsellor. |

You need to speak to a independent financial adviser - there are loads on the net. They'll tell you how best to pay back the money. If you're struggling then a lot of companies will freeze the interest for you for a while. |

It would appear you have got yourself into this hole for clearly, if you cannot afford the repayments then you should not have taken the bank's money when offered.
There is nothing to prevent you from sueing the bank - good luck.
As for the government bailing you out: what you are asking me to do, as a tax payer, is pay off your depts for you. No No and thrice NO. |

Yes you should sue your bank, you're obviously way too stupid to have a bank account. My guess is that if your IQ were any lower you would need watering twice a week. |

it is your fault you should have known if you could afford to pay that per month and no the government wont write it off, if they did with you why wont they do that with everyone? |
