If you can't afford to pay your credit card payment if you lose your job, then don't use your credit card.

Tough, you've spent the money, you have to pay it back

Well, these are your options then: either
1)you need to buy the insurance and carry on using the card
OR
2) You need to keep your job and carry on as you are
OR
3) You need to pay up the debt and cut up the card, without being tempted to take out another.
If you cannot afford one payment this month you won't be able to afford two next month.

Providing you don't ignore the problem and contact the card provider, they'll work with you to find a resolution. After all, it's cheaper to agree some extended credit terms than go to the trouble of issuing proceedings and legal actions.

The debit will not go away; they will file for collection, eventually file judgement againt credit at county making financing house or car a mess, and bill you for all the charges. IN some states they can attach your wages and bank account.

Call em up and get a plan in place.

First cut up your card. Second look around for cards with 0% on balace transfers, once your balance has been transfered you should have a month and a bit before you have to make a payment. Make the min payment, oh and cut up that card as soon as you've got it. You'll just have to shuffle numbers around until you're on your feet again. Have a look at these guys http://www.moneysupermarket.com/cards/ you'll be able to search for no fee balance transfer cards. Good luck.

First, cut up the card. Second contact the card company and tell them your problem. You'll be very surprised how they'll react!
Check out Credit Cards with 0% introduction rates for 6/12 months, once there finished go to the next introductionary offer, then so on..

OK stop using your credit card now. Do not get insurance as it is a waste of money. Use the money to pay off your credit card debt instead.

You do say IF you lose youir job so try and keep it. If you are worried try to find a better paid more secure job.

If you do lose your job contact the credit card company and tell them straight away that you may have problems paying.

I bet most people are not out of work for long periods nowadays.
