This account will be removed in 8/2008. It's always a month after the month of the last reported Date. If you write to the original creditor, asking them to send you a notice of deletion for the credit bureaus, they might remove it for you. I'm working on the same situation now, except on my experian report, it gave me an estimated removal date which would be 7 years and 30 days after the Last Reported Date. |

It stays on 7 yrs & 120 days (or something like that) from the date of delinquency. |

Credit bureaus are suppose to remove incorrect items if you provide proof that it is incorrect within 30 days. However, you should send the proof "Certified, Return Receipt Requested" Otherwise they can claim they didn't get it. As far as removing old accounts, they aren't obligated to do so, but I would keep requesting it year after year after year and maybe you will wear them out and they will do it. At this point, I don't see why you are working so hard to remove this. It isn't impacting your score one way or another. ??? |

You can get the 30 day late removed with a little work. Maybe even the entire account by the creditor. The 7 year clock starts ticking when the account does delinquent (in the case of a charge off/collection) or from when the final payment is made or the account is closed.
It appears the seven year window started 7/2007
Write Experian and dispute the 30 day late. If you paid off the account the creditor may ignore the investigation and Experian will change it to reflect positively.... which is better than removing it. If the creditor responds to the investigation then write them with the dispute and ask for a lot of account verification information. They may then choose to change it rather then go through the pains of dealing with you. It could take60 - 90 days to go through the process. |

1. It shows under negative because there was a late payment. Even though you are now current, it is bad that you were ever late.
2. They have to remove it 7 years from the date of last activity, not 7 years from when you opened it. |

yes it can be removed, but since it is GOOD, I wouldn't
really care if it stayed on. |

They go from the last reported date...not the date opened or reprted since. Sounds like you have a long time to wait!! |

07/2001 monthly payment = 07/2008 7 years for removal its not when the account was opened its when the account was closed that you can count 7 years from. |

This appears to be an Auto loan(or some other installment loan), that is paid off. The reason it is showing up under the negative is because you had a 30 day late payment.
Any negative information will remain on there for 7 years from the date of the negative information. So this will still be considered negative until 7 years has passed for the late payment. So if your late payment was in 2/2002 it will remain negative until after 2/2009, but then go into positive status. But even though it is negative now after about 24 months it has very little effect on your score.
But I would NOT remove the account for this. A paid off installment loan, even though it has a late payment is still helping your score. If you disputed they might remove the entire line, and there is a very good chance that your score would drop. |

I believe that reporting agencies may be able to report adverse information 7 years from date of LAST activity/transaction on account. If you made a payment lets say in 2004 to pay it off, they may report until 2011. |
