None! Credit cards are dangerous and stupid. In the end, you pay more for EVERYTHING you buy on credit, because of the interest charges and fees. If you can't pay cash for it now, you don't need it now.
Try getting a secured loan on a cheap, old, beater car (around $1000) then make your payments on time. When it's paid for, start putting that same payment into a savings account, then trade up for a slightly better USED car with your old car (trade-in) and cash (no loan). NEVER, EVER buy new cars - they depreciate too quickly.
Keep on stuffing as much money into your savings account as you can and I can promise, when it comes time to get a mortgage and you have a fat down payment, lenders will beg you to borrow from them.
Don't use credit for things that depreciate (go down in value), only for things that appreciate, like houses.
Keep away from credit cards, spend less than you earn and you'll be in a LOT better financial shape than most of your friends in a couple of years (when they're up their eyeballs in debt and you're rolling in cash). |

When I was your age I started with a store card, I think it was Sears or Macy's. The limit was very low as I recall. After a few months of using it and paying it off, I had enough credit to get a major credit card. There are usually income requirements for a Visa or Mastercard, but you might be able to get a debit card linked to your checking/savings account that has the Visa/MC logo on it and can be used like a credit card.
Just try and start small and pay every bill on time. Good luck! |

if you can't get anything at all try a secured credit card like one from Orchard Bank. |

Go to college. Credit card companies are falling all over each other to give credit to young folks in college.
You also may need to be careful about one other thing. Sometimes, if you have too many applications all at once, that will be a mark against you. If you've already applied for a bunch of cards, you might try one or two more right away, and if they don't work, just give it a rest for about 6 months before you try any again. It's just one of the ways card companies rate you. |

Get a prepaid card if you want to build your credit, most major companies offer them. I would advise against getting a traditional credit card, they will ruin your credit faster than anything. It takes much, much longer to build and rebuild credit than it does to destroy it. Save up for purchases and pay for them in cash. You'll be greatful when you're in your 30's and actually own everything you have, while all of your friends are in debt up to their eyeballs and have to work 3 jobs just to keep up with the minimum payments. |

YOU CAN GET A SECURED CARD BY MAKING A DEPOSIT IN WHAT WOULD BASICALLY BE A SAVINGS ACCOUNT. YOU MAY ALSO TRY A GOOGLE SEARCH ON "CREDIT CARDS BAD CREDIT". SOME COMPANY'S HAVE PROGRAMS FOR BUILDING CREDIT. |
