Dear friend: They are a SCAM!! YOU WOULD NEVER SEE YOUR MONEY AGAIN. Believe me it happened to me too.
You didn't win anything if you haven't played for real they are scamming all of us. If you receive those e-mails, don't even open them they have viruses and also they will take your information to clean your Bank account. Neither answer to job offers, they tell you they'll send you a payment and you'll keep a percentage, they deposit "so called" checks in your Bank and they make you try to get money before the check clears and it just so happens those checks are false! So they close your accounts. Lottery winnings is a BIG SCAM!! They took our money too. Please don't send them anything else and I'm sorry about your loss! I went trough that myself. You could take that money and have open and account to earn interest instead of loosing it. Sincerely: Marina Garcia.jormarenterprise@yahoo.com

It's spam & they can't take money from you or report it. It's illegal but most are based in other countries or use false addresses. You never pay for winning. If you already have call the police & the attorney general's consumer protection division. They can set up a sting. But you're not likely to get any money back. Just maybe a little justice.

NEVER,NEVER, NEVER answer those e-mails. Africa is the most common ruse, then europe, yahoo & msn in that order. NO ONE is giving money to random e-mails. If you gave them your bank number, ss# or anything like that contact your bank immediately because they could use that info to drain you dry. The bank can put a hold on your account.

I'm ss. Hope you get this straightened up. But get it done NOW! before any more loss.

I'm sure that I am not the first to ask you to look at what Barbara and David Mikkelson say on Snopes.com. http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/lottery.asp They debunk a lot of urban legends and on-line frauds, giving back-up information and historical beginnings.

Here is the deal. They tell you that you have won money in a lottery that, somehow, miraculously, you entered without your knowledge. They know who you are and have your information, so it must be real. They tell you that they have a check waiting for you, so you must do something to receive the money. Perhaps they even mail you the check, but it can't be processed until you pay a fee. You pay some amount of money, and your money clears right away while theirs bounces from your bank to their bank... So, you pay another fee. The fraudulent check bounces back and forth while your checks clear. It may take a while for someone to realize what is going on... while you work yourself silly trying to get your hands on the money. Nope. Wrong answer. It ain't happening.

It's a fraud.

Anyway, in my opinion, if you have sent money, you should stop sending money and consult with your bank immediately about possibly stopping payment on your checks or whatever. Then you should be sure to go over any information you have given them, including credit card numbers, social security numbers, birthdates, etc... You need to protect your identity and your finances.

Check out the link to www.snopes.com: http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/lottery.asp . Check out this link (provided by Snopes.com) to the Nigerian Lottery scam, http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/nigeria.asp , and the Cashier Check scam, http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/cashier.asp . Do either of these scams look like the one you are involved in?

Good luck. Sorry about your loss.

It is most probably a spam. They will not pay you money but instead ask you to make some initial payments to get your lottery after which they dissappear

Vettestyle
Throw it away you did not win... It is a Nigereian scam. I think I get between 1 and 3 e-mails a week for this scam and women who want to get married and come here to the USA just send them 3500 to get a plane ticket and a passport. LOL I told them I would send the plane ticket and he-she whatever said NO way. LOL I love messing with them they always think they have a sale...Also watch out for the scams of depositing money into your account and you send them a small amount back and you get to keep the balance Yeah right....So look out nigeria I am on to you.

Common...!!!!

They are fake emails. Ignore them.

The_Mouse
IT IS a scam. NOBODY give you free money. If you didn't buy a lottery ticket or entered any competition then you won't ever win anything.

If you already PAID the money - then consider that an investment in life lesson.

You won't (with a 99.99% probability) see your money again. To try to get it back (through law enforcement channel) will cost you even more.

its 100% fake and whats worse is that you said you paid money out for it already!! I use to work for a bank for 6 years and this was VERY common they get you to pay them some money for a fake winning and then they take your money and LOW AND BEHOLD you never get your check. its actually extrememly common and its definitely a lie and scam. Do not go any further with this and report it right away! South Africa lottery?? I mean c'mon remmeber you have to be in it to win it, and I highly doubt South Africa has a lottery for Americans. Please don't be this naive! Good luck and stop giving them money thats exactly the scam!

SCAM! You never have to pay before you claim your winnings. Ask your local lottery office.
You can't win something you didn't play.
Plus, international lotteries are illegal.

This is scam, i recieved that same email about three months ago, I reported it to the feds and they have had numerous of the same complaints remember if it sounds to good to be true than most likely it is and also you can't win a lottery that you didn't either enter or buy a ticket for, Best of Luck, DONT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFO!!!

happy m
That is full of crap,i have got emails like that too it is just a mega big scam. The best advice i can give you is just delete it and report it.

This is a scam.

If you ever get a mail telling you that you have won enormous sums of money, it is a scam. Especially if you didn't have a ticket in said lottery/never heard of the competition etc.

Never part with you money without proof of integrity, unless you can afford to lose it.
