I got accepted for a loan and paid £50 fee up front?
when the paper work came through the agreemant was nothing like i had discussed with the agent ,therefore i spoke to them again and was really not pleased with what they were offering. Therefore i asked for a refund of my £50 ,and they have said no is there anything i can do about this. Its no fault of mine that i cant go through with the loan as they were asking for things i couldnt supply, which they said i woulnt need when i spoke innitially on the phone with them.Im not really bothered about the loan because i wouldnt accept the terms they were giving ,but im really annoyed about the £50 as i feel as if i have been conned.

You paid for the introduction from the credit company that organised the loan......its a con. Usually set up to con money from the people who need it most. You possibly dont have a great credit history...(congratulations you have joint the 6M in this country). I have applied for loans, via internet, etc and always get these companies coming on to me...but I never went for it coz I didnt see the point in paying some third party to introduce me to the company i would be dealing with......Sorry, but I think you will just have to write off the £50.00 and be grateful, coz you probably would have had a loan of what say £1K, and paid back £3K

You've been conned. Contact your local trading standards office, or the Office of Fair Trading.

That happened to me too once. I lost £50.00 in the name of trying to get apparently £5000.00 in my account in the next 5 days.

Needless to say it was apparently "non-refundable". At that time, I needed the money (even £50.00) more than anything.

But Oh well...

Duffer
No reputable lender would want a fee. If the loan was to be secured on property there maybe charges, but these are generally deducted from the loan.

you were ...." but unfortunately a legal" con these companies have been getting away with it for years.... name them and shame them............always ask what is guarenteed before you pay a penny.

Was it with wentworth direct? They do this and it sounds like you have been offered a loan but you havent. If you give them the money then thats the last you will see of it.

Threaten to take them through the small claims court, They won't risk their reputation and loss of business for the sake of 50 quid. If you used a credit card speak to their people.
