Any place of employment that has something to do with loans will probably check your credit. They are just checking to see if you have any ridiculous amounts of outstanding, delinquent accounts. I wouldn't worry about it though. Most people have something negative on their credit reports. Besides, they probably won't pay that close attention to it. They're probably just checking because their policies and procedures require them to pull a bureau.

Number one they are looking for a honest person. Number two what type of credit history do you have; evictions, repossessions, charge offs, etc. Are you desperate for money? Who are your references? How long have you lived in that city? Do you move around allots from one city to another city? Why did you leave your last job? Have you ever been charge with or arrested for theft incidents?

they will most likely be looking at how much debt you are in, like money owed on credit cards, collections, etc. i think they look for people who are in debt becuz they would be most likely to steal from the bank. it sounds crazy, but think about it, if you were in debt, and had access to all that money, wouldnt it be a little tempting?

Banks won't hire someone with terrible credit, there is too much risk. As long as you don't have any past collections looming you should be o.k.

you're lucky I'm nice

they want to make sure you have no money problems, and won't be stealing from them to pay off creditors.

Banks or any company's want to hire people who are responsible, and doing a credit check can tell them how well you handle your responsibilities.

Also if it is a job that involves money in any way, if someone has a bad credit reference sometimes they will not be hired, because people who don't pay the requested amount due on their bills, are sometimes thought of as neglectful, irresponsible, or that they just don't have the income needed to meet their finical obligations, and possibly could be tempted to steel.

rennickelizabe
they check your credit history to see what your payments are like and if you have problems they may take that into account and be understanding

Since banks are having troubles, they want to make sure this isn't another ****-up and is worth their money.
