Why did you do it? Did you know it was stolen? Was it made out to you? Yes, as someone stated, definately get an attorney. However, you should ask yourself these questions stated above...and who else is in on it with you? Did you sign it or were you just with someone? These are serious allegations. Satan has decieved you to live in the moment for the momentary fleshly desires...this is how he works ....now the consequences of bowing down before Satan will hurt, destroy and kill you unless..you repent and start to follow God. |

It's uncertain whether you will go to jail for this or not. Best advice at this point is to cooperate with the law through a defense attorney. |

I can't believe you would do something like that. You are in a lot of trouble. I hope you learned your lesson. There is no way that $3,700 dollars was worth what you are facing! |

why do you want to make payment arrangements now? Were you caught or is your conscience bothering you? Since you are willing to pay back the money then you will not go to jail. |

was it 3,750.00? that's a lot of money. it's pretty risky cashing a stolen check. i don't know if you'll go to jail though. |

You need to consult an attorney who is able to practice law in your jurisdiction. Whether you are facing jail time for this depends on many factors and may also involve federal jurisdictions.
If you cannot afford an attorney, consult your local Legal Aid (should be in the yellow pages) office, they may be able to help you.
The only other advice I can give you is that if you have any of the money left you should not (under any circumstances) spend it.
Good Luck. |

It will depend on the bank and the person who actually own the checking account, more than likely the will not make arrangements due to fraud, rather they will want the full amount plus any fees and costs immediately. If they have pressed charges, it will be considered fines and restitution then it will be up to a judge whether you can make payment arrangements or spend time in jail.
There is a great possibility you will spend some time in jail unless you can give all the money back immediately. |

Did you steal it?
Did you know it was stoken when you cashed it?
Did you have reason to know it might have been stolen? Like not giving full value for it. |

Yes, It is illegal to cash the stolen check. You will be caught. |
