I think that credit scoring is both unethical and a breach of human rights. why should someone turn you down for credit based on abstract computer generated figures. maybe its the brand of dog food you buy, maybe its the surname you have. Who knows and who cares with credit ratings because!

Oh GOD yes! I got bad credit while I was studying at uni cos I couldn't afford to pay some of my bills at times. That was years ago but my credit rating still follows me, even though I'm in a well paid job and have been paying everything on time since I got it. Right pain in the a*se it is! |

Yes, I see credit reports all the time at work at it makes me so mad. A person with slightly less credit and in good standing can have the same score as someone with a few more credit lines and derrogatory credit!! It infuriates me! |

Yes, because your credit score is your "I love debt score". The only way to get a credit score is to borrow money.
I know of millionaires who have a zero credit score (because they don't borrow money) who would be turned down for an apartment application (because they checked their credit score) but who could buy the whole apartment complex!
You have to keep in mind what industry (credit) is controlling your credit score.

It is an unfair system based upon illogical mathematical computations.
I'm not sure I can say I "hate" credit scoring, but I can definitely say that the system is seriously flawed. |
