getting a credit card is not about how much money you keep in the bank, it's about your credit rating. Get a copy of your credit report and see what's holding you back on it. |

Credit scoring is not tied to checking account information. It is based on prior payment history with other creditors. You may want to get copies of all of your credit reports are annualcreditreport.com to see if you even have any credit references.
If you do not, you may want to try for a store card to establish credit, or go to www.orchardbank.com. |

Put a grand in another bank account, and apply for the credit card at the same time.
Write checks from your original accounts to pay your credit card bill.
Your bank will get the message.
BTW, I now call the manager of my credit union and deal only with him. I manage to get things done much faster than before now. |

You can have a million bucks in your checking account, but that doesn't mean squat if you have bad credit. Go to www.annualcreditreport.com and check your credit. It'll tell you why you got denied and, if there are mistakes in your report, it'll show you where to write to in order to get the mistakes corrected.
I would also suggest opening an account at your local credit union. They'll usually get you a better rate on your loan than the banks. |

Go to the bank or banks and speak to the loan officer. Tell them that you want to apply for a credit card. If for some reason they will not give you one then have then tell you why because you would want to fix the problem. |

One question, if you are able to keep a running balance of $1000 then why do u need a credit card?
Anyway, You need to check your credit report to see if there is anything that is stopping you from being approved. Or if you have been inactive in the past few years on your credit report the companies are reluctant to do businesses with you. Also contact the companies you have been rejected by and ask for their reasoning. If its something you can work on then there you go.
Also a secure credit card from your bank would be a good idea. It helps build credit. Pay it off each month less one dollar(to have "credit). |

When applying for credit, they don't ask how much is in your account. They ask what your income is and they ask for your social. They pull up a credit report and look at the balances of other accounts(furniture, retail, gas, etc.)...based on the amount of accounts in good standing, credit is issued. If you have outstanding balances then you may be denied. No credit is better than bad credit.
You should look at your credit report periodically to check for fraud. Someone else could be using credit in your name. You never know unless you look. |

You should check your credit score to make sure no one is using your credit or what you might have to do is get a starter credit card because some credit people will not approve you if you have no credit. It sounds stupid but that's how it is. Those credit people get those fresh out of school because they know half of those kids really no nothing about Apr's and things like that. |

look most probably is that you does not have enough credit for a credit card have ever ask why you where denied they'll tell you the reason why if you ask.......... plus just because you have money in a bank they're not goin to granted you with a credit card like you said u got a couple of thounsand in each bank open a cd or something that get you more money of it believe me just because you have cash that does not mean it could buy credit you have to earn your credit, get something that you could pay slow like a car and that way it will start making your credit by the way you don't need to apply at the bank for credit card you could apply in other places like sear of something like that, think your not goin to loose anything if you ask in the bank plus u said u tried years ago tried now........ if u really need it ..............susan orman show says if u don't need a credit card don't get it, it will just make more problems for u so think about it ok bye and good luck |

having a bank account with money in they doesnt get you credit cards....and if u have money why do u want credit cards?...the reason high school kids get credit cards so easily is because credit card companies are looking for people they can make the most money off of...not the guy with wads of money just sitting in the bank accounts...kids are dumb and get the cards and max then out in a week...credit card companies know u are not gonna do that because u obviously know how to manage ur money...do u have any bills in ur name...the reason ur not getting credit card offers sounds like u have bad credit....im 21 years old and developed my credit early...with a car payment...get a car in ur name and pay on it for 4 years...u will have great credit after that....and u will get about 4 credit card offers a day like me....go to ur bank and talk to a financal advisor and they will help u get a good credit card...its there job...im almost a financal advisor...well in a few years...lol...ohh...my credit score is about 740ish....just in case u think this kid doesnt know what he is talking about...lol |

you probably don't have a credit rating, you need to get a store credit card or a gas card and use it for a while to build up your credit, also have utility bills in your name and pay them on time. once one company offers you credit jump on it and spend a couple of hundred bucks and just pay the minimum for a while, this really builds credit fast. Just remember once you get credit you need to start paying the complete balance so that you do not develop debt problems |

It's cheaper to "borrow your own money" --- immensely so. It makes very poor economic sense to want credit when you have the money sitting in a bank...especially with the interest rates paid by banks and the interest rates demanded by credit institutions.
You need to educate yourself about credit. Credit isn't given. It is earned. What have you done to earn it? |
|

I use Google for your answers.

It sounds like you just save a lot. The reason is you could get a credit card, and on top of that you could just spend your money in the bank. Try applying for a capital one card (that was my first card), and it only had five hundred limit. |

You have no problem. Change the bank close the earlier bank accounts and open account with that bank which will allow you credit card facility. |
