I know exactly what ur talking about. I have been there done that. What's happening is simple, the places u r shopping at is charging ur visa gift card as a "gift card" when it is supposed to be charged as "credit". I found out the hard way. One day when I went to Macys, the cashier charged my card as a "gift card" and the money was taken off, but it read on the receipt that it wasn't paid for when it really was. If that makes sense. If i had not REALLY wanted that product i would have lost a whole $50. So i called the Visa gift card company while i was in the store in front of the manager and cashier, and the company told me they did pay for it, but the cashier did not charge my card right. So my money was refunded to my card and i had to reuse the same money pay for it again and this time it was charged right.
Edit: If i were you make sure to check the balance on your card by going online because its possible the Visa gift card company did pay for your product already, but the places u are shopping at did not charge ur card right. As a result, you may have a zero balance. Also make sure to call the Visa gift card company. There should be a number on the back of ur card. Alot of cashiers are not familiar with the new Visa gift cards so they don't know how to charge the card properly. They should be training their employees for this. Good Luck! I hope i helped!!
Edit: Also the reason it is working online for itunes is because you don't need a pin number or whatever to purchase music from itunes. You must have registered it as a credit card, because it can't be registered as a gift card, because itunes has their own. |
