You can take as long as you need to pay it off. As long as you make the minimum payments (probably under $25.00 a month for $400). you will have to pay interest, and that is how the credit companies make money. How much interest depends on your card (and your credit score) |

Your credit card will give you a minimum monthly payment. For a $400 bill that minimum will probably be $25 or so per month.
They will charge you interest on the unpaid balance until its paid off.
If you can afford to pay if off in 2 months, you'll have no problems using the card to pay the bill except that you will pay a little interest. It won't count as late payments or anything.
Before you do that, make an offer to the car repair shop to pay them half now and half next month. Just explain your situation and ask if they will take 2 payments. That would save you on interest charges. |

if you have a $400 limit or more, you can charge $400 to the card and take a couple of months to pay it off : ) |

you can pay it off slowly but the longer it takes the more intrest builds up and the more you have to pay. |

You will get a statement from the credit card company with the minimum amount due. That is all you have to pay. But, of course, ... interest will occur. |

I think your safe here. I have been in credit card trouble before and don't use them anymore. I count on my savings and cash. Why? because with cash, the transaction is over immediately. Credit? Waiting for the bill, hassling over overcharges blahh blahh. Rid yourself of credit! |

If you have an American Express, it is expected to be paid in full each month. However, if it is any other credit card, there will be a min payment, usualy $10-$15. But remember, you are being charged a percentage each month (could be up to 20%!!!), so get it paid off ASAP. |

When you use your credit card, your company will give you a minimum payment each month, you have to at least pay the minimum, but my suggestion would to pay a little more so that your interest does not keep going up on your payment. The more you pay the quicker your card is paid off |

Well what I would do since is a emergency I would pay with the credit card. Like come on you have barley used it. The credit card company would give you time. Dont worry. |

unless its an American Express, the balance will not have to be paid in full, but you will be charged interest after approximately 30 days on the balance unpaid. the interest will continue to accrue each month until the balance is paid in full
most likely, they will send you a bill with a minimum payment of 10.00 or something stupid like that. make sure to pay as much as you can, or 10% ($40) if possible. if you only make minimum payments, you will NEVER get it paid off! most likely the minimum payment is less than the interest they're going to charge you
and make sure to only use your card for emergencies, like you have designated! do NOT get wrapped up in credit, its a dangerous thing! (speaking from experience :) |

you can make payments. You can pay it off over a year if you want, but you will be charged interest. That is as long as it isn't an American Epress. Some of those require you pay the balance in full each month. |

okay first what type of card company is it because American express usually expects u to pay the whole amount unless you have American express blue....no according to the apr interest raate they calculate that with the amount you owe and give you minimum monthly payments that acrues interest with each minimum you pay so in other words for example if you have a credit limit of 1000 and you use 400 youll be left with 500and they will probaly calculate a minimum payment like 15 or 10 dollars or something like that (just an example not saying tht will be minimum statement)...the best info I would suggest to you is always pay more than the minimum because if you always do pay the minimum in the end if u have used 400 dollars you'll really actually end up paying 500 dollars due to minimum payments so if u can always try to pay more thasn the minimum..hope his helps payment |

If you have to pay with a credit card to get your car fixed, that's fine. By using a Master card or Visa, the charge will show up on your bill in 30 days. These cards allow you to pay over time, but some American Express cards make you pay it all on the next bill they generate. The longer you take to pay the bill, the more interest they will chage you for using their credit card. Just make sure you pay atleast the minimum or more and on time each month. |

The best thing to do is pay off your total credit card balance at the due date. If you don't, you will pay interest on the unpaid balance the next month which is not a good thing! You end up pay more than the $400 bill. |

credit card companies do not require you to pay for he full amount riht away. your bills would show the full amount used but it would also show the minimum amt you can pay. as long as you can pay that minimum amt then your ok... |

You pay what you can afford to the credit card company.
End of discussion. |
