Without knowing your credit score, it's hard to say which type of card would be best. There are credit cards for "poor / no credit" (FICO below 619) and credit cards for "fair / average credit" (FICO 620-659). You can find both types of cards here:

Either way, you'll end up paying a slightly higher interest rate (and possibly some additional fees) with one of these offers. Eventually, with regular on-time payments-- you'll be able to improve your credit score so you can qualify for better offers with lower APR's and less fees. But for now, these are your options...

good credit can only get bad . There may be a credit card out there with your name on it but with no credit history
you'll end up paying a high interest rate, which means if you can buy something for cash or better yet put your spending on hold and pour most of your cash into a savings account
you can latter on tap into your savings to buy what you need.
At that point companies all over will be sending you credit
cards with your name and pre-approved. |

.......... and you can usually get a credit card when it's secured by funds in a savings account at the same bank. Your credit limit will be the balance in your savings account, and you will not be able to withdraw the money in your savings while your credit card is open. For example - deposit $500 in a savings account and get a Visa with a $500 credit limit.
This is a GREAT way to rebuild your credit after bankruptcy or other financial difficulties. |

Capital One.com They have 14 % rates, and 19 % rates, you should get those...np...$300 limit to start, then $500 after 3 months, so on and so forth
First Premier.com after you sign up, you really wont have much credit left over after you sign up due to the fees they charge , however, once you pay those down, your credit limit should be $250...they raise it every 6 months
And lastly orchardbank.com is a secured card...their minimum is $200, however, all of these are wonderful great starters to help you re-build your credit so you can eventually recieve better credit cards after 6months to a year after paying on these cards on time...

As long as your credit is not god awful, there is always someone out there who will approve you. Just keep checking around. I know someone who got a capital one card with a credit score of 575. So clearly people can do it. |
