Go to Capital One on-line and apply for a C.C., open a bank account get a Debit card. You may get one that charges a yearly fee of like $30 bucks, but in the long run you're building credit once established you can find a zero annual fee. |

Actually, you could open up a secured credit card at your current bank (if you have one) and no credit is required, only a deposit equal to the amount of the creidt spending limit. That's the best way to build credit when you have none!! FYI - Utilites and phones do NOT boost your credit at all....trust me, I work in finance. |

I am in the same boat. I just got a card about 7 months ago at Orchard Bank on line. My score is now up to 680. Be aware you are going to pay outrageous interest rates but hang in there and it will be worth it. When you do get in the high 700,s you can close that high interest card and go for a lower rate card. This will take about a year of being really good at paying on time. Just remember don't ever pay the cards off, just make the payments and your credit will go higher even faster. |

Open an account with a bank, take out a smll loan from the same bank in repay it by then end of the month, everytime you payoff the balance your credit builds and you get a score point increase every three months.
Be careful not spend the money you get from the bank.
on a $500 loan you will mostlikely have to pay back $508.00 at 18% rate at the end of the month.

You need to establish a credit history by making a significant purchase and making your monthly payments on time.
I did it with buying a car.
Anything you can make monthly installments will do. then that company will vouch for you that you are in good standing as a paying client and more credit card companies will get that info and send you offers.

get a credit card or utilities in your name. cell , home phone, electric, heat something all will help boost your credit. A credit card (even if you have to start with one with a annual fee) will build up your actual credit not just the ranking. To creat credit lines you will need some type of small loan. |
