First off. Get help. If it is credit card debt, go to Consumer credit Counseling to try to get your issue resolved.
Second, inform the bill collector that you do not live at your parents house, so they will stop calling there. |

First send the a cease and desist letter registered mail return receipt requested, this will stop them for contacting you any other way except the U.S mail.
I have posted a link at the bottom so you can look up the forms.

A written letter sent to collectors will legally require them to stop calling. Cut up those cards!! |

Call them and tell them not to contact you there anymore. Tell them you would only like to communicate thru mail and thats it. Know your rights. |

send the collections agency a letter advising them that you are unable to pay and that you will contact them when you are ready . Tell them that according to the Debt Collection Act you know that they shall not contact you by phnone and they cannot harrass you threatning you or posing as attorneys. It works like a charm.

Do you live with your parents (not being offensive). If you don't live at the phone number they are calling it is generally illegal for them to continue to harass people at that number once they have been informed you do not reside there. Of course local laws all differ -but most places do have laws governing what debt collectors can and can not do. Debt collectors are also generally limited as to the number of calls they can make per day.
Even if you can not find a lawyer look up the law yourself, if you can't understand the law try to get some help. In any case knowing your rights and quoting the appropriate laws usually helps in these situations. |

Next time they call your parents home have your parents say you no longer live there and then they can give them a number to reach you...or an address...something and then tell them that there is no reason for them to call the house anymore and they expect to not hear from them anymore!
I had the same problem when i moved away from home...
But pay those off...it will hurt you in so many ways in the future...those collectors are crazy!!! Im not even joking just pay it off and get those people off your back and moms... |

That company probably broke the law when they called your parents house and told them they were calling in an attempt to collect a debt... Your debt owed is between you and that company... If you can work out some sort of payment arrangement of course that is the first option you should try... Either way they should not be disclosing personal info to your parents... If you want an attorney to write a letter for you to the company or make a phone call on your behalf about this matter, try Pre-Paid Legal Services... www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/

P.S. I'm by no means an attorney so you should always seek proper legal counsel... |
