Always pay off/down higher interest cards first.
You will save yourself a ton of money in the long run |

Completely pay of the deparment store cards as they're most likely to have the highest interest rates. And definetly pay donw the regular card.....cut them up and stop using them too.
At least until you get your spending under control |

Step one: Figure out why you’re so far in debt and what you’re going to do to prevent this from happening again.
Step two: Pay off the cards with the highest interest rates first and then come up with a payment plan for the remaining balances. |

Pay off/down the ones that are charging you the most interest; that's the way that you will save the most money - simple mathematics. |

Pay off the highest interest rate cards first. Then stop using any of these cards till you have finished paying off all of them!
Make a strict budget. Eliminate all the extras -- eating out, new clothes, cell phone, etc. Put every penny you can squeeze out of your budget on the highest interest rate card, while paying minimum on the rest. When the highest rate card is paid, move to the next till the are all paid in full.
You may want to try writing down everything you spend money on for a week. You will be amazed at how much money you waste.
Credit cards are not long term finance. They are a convenience. You really need to learn to only charge what you can afford to pay in full each month. You'll build a good payment history, save all that interest, and stay out of debt. |

Pay off the ones with the highest interest rate first. With that out of the way, try to get a 0% card to transfer the remainder. BE CAUTIOUS of the fine print though cause some have a clause that if you are late 2 times, you forfeit the 0% and they will charge you prime plus whatever % which in most cases is about 24%. Once the high cards are paid off, cancel them. Even though they carry a zero balance, it is still available credit that affects your credit score. |

Keep your head up--you can do this yourself! The debt probably wasn't created overnight, and it is going to take some time to work through to pay it off. Here a couple of quick tips for getting out of debt, and staying out:
1. Stop charging
2. Pay debts off smallest to largest, regardless of interest rate
3. Divide credit card minimum payments in half and pay that amount twice a month.
4. Make micro payments (commonly referred to as snowflakes) any time you receive extra money.
5. Don’t waste time with balance transfers, unless you owe more than $10k.
6. Find part-time work.
7. Close out your newest accounts as you pay them off.
8. Get angry! Make debt repayment your top financial priority and focus all your energy on getting out. |

You can go for a credit counseling. They would suggest you plan to pay off according to your debts and income. They would also negotiate with your creditors to reduce the debts.
Here is the source of a debt consolidation company named http://ezconsolidation.com for your reference. |

It is important to pay off some of the the cards in full, rather than to pay down, but not pay off all of them. You should verify the payoff amount, to make sure that it is paid in full. That avoids any additional charges. If possible, pay on-line. That will allow you to do it quicker. |
