You could try www.prosper.com or try to consolidtate onto one credit card that offers good balance transfer terms.

Check out http://preferred.ecreditdirectory.com/categories/balance_transfer_credit_cards for a list of balance transfer cards...

I would take your card with the lowest balance and pay it off. then work on the next one until you have them down to where you have a manageable balance. Do not charge anything else. When you get them down pay off the whole balance each month.

I'm about in the same boat. I tried to consolidate, but for me I had to have enough credit on the one card I would've used to put my total debt on. For example, $4000 credit to consolidate $4000 total debt and reduce interest. For you it may be different, though.

I'm in the same situation...Debit consolidation companies don't really work. You can tell your bank your situation and have them combined them on one card for a high rate and then ask them to have the payment automatically withdrawn from your account. Also, you may want to try to sell off some items or even get a part time job. 10,000 really isn't that much and can be knocked out if you really buckled down.

Practically any type of loan can be wrapped into the debt consolidation process. Common types include finance charges, late fees and overdraft charges, credit cards, personal loans, utility bills, medical bills, car loans, store cards, gas cards and back taxes. A debt consolidation loan<!--allows you to condense your monthly payments into a single, simple bill, while lowering your interest rates and helping you pay down your debts more quickly and easily. It is also an essential tool in avoiding the much more serious step of declaring bankruptcy.

http://badcredits.awardspace.com/Loan-Consolidation.htm

Unlike bankruptcy, in which debts are cancelled and your credit rating collapses completely, debt consolidation loans are essentially a type of refinancing, where several-->old loans are replaced with a new one that has more favorable terms. Your loan consultant will negotiate with creditors on your behalf, so you’ll no longer have to deal with harassing phone calls and daily mail.

my tip, and this is how i got out of the same situation, go to finance.yahoo.com, and there are TONS of ways; from figuring out who to pay off first, to who to pay the most.

DO NOT DECLARE BANCKRUPCY, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY, I WORK AT A BANK AND I RATHER GIVE A LOAN TO SOME ONE WHO DOESNT PAY ON TIME THAN TO SOMEONE WHO DECLARED BANKRUPCY. DECLARING BANKRUPCY FOR A LENDER MEANS YOU WILL NEVER PAY IT, WHERE AS BEING LATE ONLY TAKES YOU TO COLLECTIONISTS WHO YOU CAN PAY OVER TIME AND GET THEM OFF YOUR REPORT SOONER

You are better taking out a personal loan from your bank and paying them all off , and canceling the cards after that and never get one again. If you can obtain a loan, and your credit score is exceptional, you could pay interest between 5.5 and 7.99 %

Consolidation is the best solution available to the credit cardholders to improve their future credit. People go for debt consolidation for many reasons: prolonging the loan period from 5 - 15 years and reducing the interest rate. Consolidation allows you to go for a loan with lower interest rate than the one you are currently paying. Besides it simplifies the loan repayment as you are paying only one lender in place of various payments to different lenders.

I'd suggest seeing a credit counselor in your area. There are some who are non-profit who can assist you in consolidating your loans and may even be able to reduce your payment amount.

Chapter 7 bankrupcy, your credit is screwed anyway if you are only paying minimum payments. You can clear bankrupcy from your credit faster than you can pay off these bills with minimum payments.....No Crap........######
