You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad credit. I've done it, but you'll have to look around. That's one of the BIG mistakes people make...just taking the first offer that's given to them when they go to the dealer. Be smarter than that.
WARNING: DON'T GO TO BUY A CAR WITHOUT HAVING THE LOAN FIRST. The auto dealers will eat you alive and give you a crappy rate. Shop around with lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans. It's a better option, you don't have to take what they're offering if you don't want it, and it's better than dealing with the car dealer's people.
There are usually some nationally based car loan companies who specialize in bad credit car loans who advertise on the page linked below...

It is possible. But it will be hard for you to find one... You can ask your family or friend to cosign for your car loan. |

Probably not. You can only go to a "buy here, pay here" and those are always high interest. But, if that's all you can get and you need a car bad, then you do what you gotta do and they know that, that's why they do what they do. It sucks, but that's how it is. I have bad credit too so I know all of this too well. The trick is, if you do have to go to a buy here pay here, then pay extra every week. That will screw them out of alot of interest they will be charging to you. Any extra you pay will come off the principal instantly, which lowers your interest. It will pay the car off quicker. That's what we are doing. Good luck. |

Even if you have bad credit there are many avenues that you can pursue to get a car you want. Try going to your bank to see if you can get any sort of pre-approval for a car loan. This way, you'll be able to know what is your "set-in-stone" max. However, you could also look for other avenues to get an additional loan to supplement any sort of car that goes over your pre-approved bank loan. Also, try enterprise rent-a-car. My cousin works for the one here in San Diego and said that they have great deals. They are also very cognizant of lemon laws, so they will take care of you accept trade-ins if something should go wrong. |

get credit report ahead of time / or when you go into car dealer ask them to run report to give you score so you can see what interest rate you can get to see what you can afford/ it can save them time also |
