Okay, so you did what you did. But the reality is that you can either keep running (but bear mind they have already found you once after running from it) or you can get in touch and start to open negotiations for repayment terms.
The fact is that as they have done such a good job of finding you, they can make sure that you never get the chance to borrow money, get a mortgage, or with some institutions even open a bank account.
Write back to them. State that you are sorry for the past and you would like to arrange a repayment strategy with them. Ultimately, all they want is their money - which they are entitled to.
Surely you would agree that if you get it all repaid then you would get some sense of relief from not having to worry about opening your mail or your door every day.
Be sensible, and good luck. |

Try paying back the money you owe. Already the debt has grown to £6000 + and it isn't going to go away. You should talk to Egg and see if you can pay back in regular small amounts - they may be able to do this as it's in their interest that you repay the money. Otherwise talk to the Citizen's Advice Bureau in your local town - they are very used to advising on problems like yours. |

If you contact them it may not be too late to make arrangements to pay it off.If they have found you once they can do it again. Its disgusting you didnt pay it in the first place. |

That is like robbery! You basically stole the money and now don't want to pay. The old saying, "you can run, but you cannot hide" seems true here. Is this a joke? Credit is a priviledge and an honor to be given to people who respect it. You were given the money and you made poor choices. Grow up and work out a payment plan. It is the right and honorable thing to do. |

You should face up to your responsibilities and get the debt cleared - you were quick enough to take the money, now honour that commitment. I can't imagine anyone on here has the slightest bit of sympathy for you. |

they caught you, so you have got to pay. That amount is too small to go bankrupt over, or get an IVA, so you are not going to be able to write it off. Only thing you can do is contact them and sort out a repaytment plan. Don't expect them to be sympathetic though, you ran away from it, whereas if you had contacted the moriginally they might have been more willing to sort things out to be easier for you.
sorry, you are in for a hard time. |

It depends on your assets if you have nothing then they cant take nothing if they take you to county court you could finish up with the baliffs knocking.
As i see it you have 2 choices.
Do another runner
Make a written offer of a few £s a week.
So it all down to how much you like the place you live in and if you move waiting for that knock at the door. |

If you have made no contact with the creditor for 6 years then it will become statue barred. That means its still exists and you will still be chased but it can not be enforced in a court of law.
If you dont want to run for another year why not face it and make them a repayment offer say £5 per week or whatever you can afford....citizens advice bureau will help you |
|

yaff

Nooooo.....dont pay them a penny the onus is on the debt collector to prove you actually own the debt...ask them for a copy of your credit agreement. It is also possible that the debt is statue barred now anyway.
If you need help message me. |

oh my god
how you suggest running for peanuts
its not like you borrowed 50 thousand pounds
5 000 is like half a yearly wage at around 12 000
grow up and pay up
its too costly to run away |
|

you know you love me
|
either pay the money back or try to have a meeting with the manager or someone high up, tell them your story, i bet they have heard it a thousand times before and maybe you can come to some sort of agreement...but otherwise you could become blacklisted and may even have to declare yourself bankrupt if there is no way you can pay it back. |

***SERIOUSLY LISTEN NOW TO ME***
I have been in this situation before, and i've been caught before, I then done it again over paypal, and did not get caught. The reason they found you is because of something like your bank account, or possibly the estate agents you went with.
Your bank account which you took the loan out into would help them find you, because even though you have moved home, all they need to do, is ring the bank and ask what the address of this bank account is. It's obvious it's you who owned that bank account, because you owned it when you took the loan out and only one person can own a bank account. So what you need to do (and should of done firstly) is keep that bank account in the address your in now, move house and then open a new bank account with a different bank under your new address. The debt collectors can't track your old bank account because you don't live at the registered address, just make sure you drain the money in that account so no one finds the statements and uses your information. The debt collectors or the police can't just track your name over the system, because although your name is the same as the other bank account - how many people share the same name? (Ultimately you could change your name, because they could match your D.O.B. etc... which isn't impossible, but highly unlikely).
When the debt collectors turn up to your old house address they would realise you have moved, contact your estate agents you moved with, ask which company sold the house to you (they have to keep this kind of information for marketin and legal reasons), then take a visit to them and find out your current house. There are two ways to avoid this:
1) Continue moving so they are following an endless trail (which is not practical really)
2) Sell your house, move in with a friend or rent a house out and after a few months get a new place with an estate agent you haven't used before. By doing this you are stopping there from being a link between the company you sold your house with, to the company you purchased the house off.
Follow this, and they wont find you. Think like this, if there is any other methods they can use to find you, car registration, house address etc... deal with it and change it.
It's no good just moving house, there not dumb, they know people would do that. Your a criminal to them, think like one.
Hope this helps and isn't to discriminating!
Good Luck!
Don't listen to people who say, your caught give up - that's b*ll |
